  3. I think it’s possible that Martin may still not be completely well, and maybe he’s perceiving things wrong.

  4. I don’t think Benny will be the killer…but if Carver had big balls ..he’d have Benny kill Amelia. *_____*.

    Comment by ozzie — December 1, 2012 @ 8:29 pm

  5. ozzie-imo i want benny to be good-for only one reason-well 2 actually-dean needs a story arc this season-and if they kill off benny-there goes deans arc. the second reason-he needs someone who hasn’t betrayed him or doubts him. benny so far is the ONLY one who hasn’t- so far.

i saw a recent interview with j2-jensen was quiet-very quiet in the interview-barely said anything at all-especially about deans “arc”. other than he didn’t know if there was time to tell what went on there. he just mentioned “whats wrong with cas-whats wrong with sam” stories. he didn’t look happy-just my opinion though. go see for yourselves and see what you guys think. it was on zap to it. there is buzz all on the internet about “whats wrong with sam-is he dreaming -is it real ect ect…. there is all kinds of buzz about cas and what the angels are upto . hardly anything about dean. i am not liking that at all.

  6. I hope this episode isn’t as predictable as it sounds. Let me guess, the killer isn’t really Benny and Dean gets to be right again. This honestly looks like a rehashing of Bloodlust.

  7. Maybe Jensen, like the rest of us, thought Dean would actually have an important story arc finally this season but nope, looks like Purgatory was all about other people again, and now it’s over so Dean can just go back to reacting to everybody else, same as always. So maybe he’s disappointed but can’t say so.
Remember that Dean talked to Benny on the phone about the things they had to do down there to survive, that he didn’t regret? Are we ever gonna find out what they were? And why again did Dean think Benny had been more of a brother than Sam? WHAT HAPPENED to make him feels this way? Are they just gonna drop it?
I really had hopes that Dean would finally get a juicy storyline. I don’t know what I was thinking. It seems that SPN writers don’t think Dean matters unless he supports either Sam or Cas’s arcs.

  8. Then again Jensen gets paid a buttload of bucks so I guess I shouldn’t feel sorry for him. But still……..

    Comment by roxi — December 2, 2012 @ 1:53 pm

  9. true roxi he does get paid a “buttload of bucks”-he is also loyal to the spn crew and to jared. i don’t think he would come out and say he hates whats going on with dean. jensen has at times told stories about lines he didn’t like or something a director was trying to make him do in a scene that wasn’t “dean like” but going farther to say he is disgusted-no he never would. he is a company actor -and he wouldn’t bring any kind of tension on set.he has said so -so has jared.

  10. @roxi
It’s not just Dean, the last two seasons even Sam’s storylines were really just to serve Cas’ storylines. It’s BOTH of the brothers the writers don’t really care aobut anymore. Ever since season 6, Cas has taken over the series and he doesn’t even need to be in all 22 episodes, it’s amazing how they will give him the whole damn story in just a handful of episodes just like last season with Sam’s hell story.

Both characters are being treated like crap. It’s ridiculous.

    Comment by Sara — December 2, 2012 @ 4:43 pm

  11. Surprisingly, I agree with you here Sara.

    Comment by roxi — December 2, 2012 @ 5:37 pm

  12. Dean doesn’t regret working side by side and being friends with a vampire while they were in purgatory. Now that they are topside Dean wants them to go their seperate ways so Deans can go back to the family business and Benny could do what he had to do. The being a better brother thing was an exaggeration due to spectre possesion.

    Comment by AW — December 3, 2012 @ 5:17 am

  13. Deans story is as it has always been to figure out all these crazy story twist going on all around him while keeping everyone focused on the main goal and still continue ganking the MotW. You know be the leader of this rag tag band of misfits.

    Comment by AW — December 3, 2012 @ 6:42 am

  14. The tension between the brothers is fantastic. Aside from learning more about Benny, we are looking forward to watching Dean and Sam deal with this vampire situation especially now that Dean has befriended someone he would have normally killed without a second thought.

    Comment by Southern Sweetness — December 3, 2012 @ 4:58 pm

  15. I’d like to know why Sam did this in the first place. He trusted Lenore and her entire nest after a brief acquaintance (only a few hours). How is it that Dean’s comrade in arms of a year long battle needs a watch dog? Is Dean’s appraisal of a man’s character not good enough for Sam? Sam’s track record is far from stellar, he shouldn’t judge, but he tends to do just that. A great deal in point of fact.

It’s not a matter of lacking trust in Benny but not giving Dean’s judgement any credence. Dean has faith in Benny therefor Sam should give him the benefit of the doubt, particularly considering how Benny earned that trust. But no, Dean’s word and judgement isn’t good enough for Sam. It’s a slap in the face to Dean.

  17. I think he sees Dean falling in the same trap He himself has fallen into repeatedly. Sam wants to keep Dean from making the same mistake. Sam has failes to see the difference btween benny and the others because doesn’t have the year of experience with Benny like Dean has. Which is why Sam should trust Dean on this one.Sam is trying to do what Dean always tried to do for him.

    Comment by AW — December 4, 2012 @ 6:35 am

  18. The truth is that Sam doesn’t trust Dean and Dean doesn’t trust Sam after he betrayed him for Ruby 2 ,…while high on Demon blood pumping in his veins and after Dean killed monster AMY …Sam must be wonderring why Dean has let Benny go…among the human populus.

    Comment by ozzie — December 4, 2012 @ 7:27 am

  19. I saw Carver’s preview and interview about this episode and it sounded ominous. Not looking forward to it. I predict that Sam will be bad and wrong again and Dean will be the poor long suffering martyr. I’ll wait to watch after reading some reviews. I have been really disappointed in this season so far.

    Comment by jace — December 4, 2012 @ 7:37 am

  20. NOOOOOOOO! Just when the brothers are coming together. I hope Sam doesn’t screw that up by killing Benny for no good reason. Sam better catch Benny fang deep in someones neck before he kills him.

    Comment by AW — December 4, 2012 @ 8:08 am

  21. Maybe I’ll be surprised but I have a bad feeling

    Comment by jace — December 4, 2012 @ 8:30 am

  22. I feel like it is to early to kill Benny. I think he has some real potential.

    Comment by AW — December 4, 2012 @ 8:41 am

  23. I dont know if he will be killed. Has Ty done any more episodes?

    Comment by jace — December 4, 2012 @ 9:08 am

  24. I think he played a vampire with a different name in lenores nest.

    Comment by AW — December 4, 2012 @ 9:47 am

  25. I don’t see them killing their new guest character after only three or four appearances. If they did, what would have been the point of introducing him?

It has to play into the big arc, that’s how SPN works. (Unless we’re still playing by S7 rules, where storylines came and went for no apparent reason.)

    Comment by G-Dawg — December 4, 2012 @ 10:39 am

  26. “No hunter worth his salt…..” Sam said, but that’s just what he insisted on doing in season 2 and last year he let a killer monster Amy go with nothing more than her promise not to do it again. Yet Dean’s monster daughter is gunned down on sight without having killed anyone and Benny who’s earned Dean’s trust must be watched. Can Sam say hypocrite?

    Comment by Haley 56 — December 4, 2012 @ 12:07 pm

  27. 217 AW, if that’s the way it was coming across, as concern for Dean, then it would be understandable. As it is, Sam just sounds spiteful when he talks about Benny, and it does really seem like he wants to hurt Dean because Dean had the audacity nto be hurt that he didn’t bother to look for him. I really want to be wrong here, because even in the past when Sam and Dean were at odds, even when Sam chose Ruby, he still showed those moments of love and concern for Dean.

    Comment by roxi — December 4, 2012 @ 12:49 pm

  28. Yeah, roxie, I’m pretty much hoping at this point.

    Comment by AW — December 4, 2012 @ 2:51 pm

  29. After last week’s cartoony hilarious episode, this one will be a lot more serious and tension between the brothers because of Dean’s other brother ‘Vamp Benny’..’you put mostly ok Martin on Benny’..Dean to Sam ..very funny !! and that makes me very worried now about Benny’fate..Will Sam go and kill him to get back at Dean for Killing Amy ..?? I hope not..I don’t want Benny to get killed ..I like his character..he is a good cool vampire and mostly a ‘brother’ to Dean..I don’t think he is the one killing those people as Sam thinks he is..We have to wait and see what happen ..Can’t wait to see this ep.which is the midseason finale !!!it’s only episode 9..why is this hiatus so early before ep 10..?!GRRR…We have to wait for another one whole month for ep 10 now..!!so not fair …

    Comment by rooky — December 4, 2012 @ 5:57 pm

  30. I’m going to be really disgusted at Carver if they have Sam kill Benny and turn around and act smug with a look screaming “I told you so, you stupid moron” to Dean. Is that supposed to make any Dean fan want to watch any more episodes?

    Comment by ORLY — December 5, 2012 @ 12:41 am

  31. Benny has to be innocent. I’ve like the character ever since he called Cas hot wings. freakin hillarious. Also to keep the brothers on track Sam has to be wrong about this one.

    Comment by AW — December 5, 2012 @ 4:21 am

  32. I wish more people would call Sam out on hiring Martin to track Benny especially if Martin either gets injured or dies. I will call out anybody who blames Dean for anything that happens to Martin while being absolutely silent about Sam putting him in that position in the first place.

    Comment by ORLY — December 5, 2012 @ 6:40 am

  33. ORLY, why do you act as if you speak for all Deanfans? In fact, I know a lot of fans who could care less about the purgatory stuff this year. Just because you like that particular storyline doesn’t mean everyone did, or is this who a Deanfan is supposed to be?

    Comment by starshine — December 5, 2012 @ 11:02 am

  34. @33 You keep giving your opinion and I’ll give you mine. But you know, I’ve never heard of a Sam fan who ran around praying for Sam to be proven wrong and made fun of. Have you?

    Comment by ORLY — December 5, 2012 @ 12:36 pm

  35. What makes you think I’m a Samfan?

    Comment by starshine — December 5, 2012 @ 1:04 pm
