I’m very curious to see how this Human Cas storyline plays out. It’s a completely different character, and I enjoyed this episode for all the funny little moments as he learned all about being human. From the toothpaste to his thoughts on urination and counting sheep, there were plenty of clever little moments for Cas to learn about life.
Then, of course, there’s the sex. I actually think Dean’s reaction to Cas having sex was better than Castiel’s. There’s a lot to explore with Cas as a character, and this episode only scratched the surface. I want more. A lot more. Because it’s going to take me a while to get used to seeing him without his trenchcoat.
I’m glad we also met Bart, the new Naomi, using people’s own faith against them. But there has to be more to his plan than killing Cas, right?
The transition from Sam to Zeke still impresses me, and the visual trick is cool (glowing blue eyes and the camera panning across the back of Dean’s head). However, how long can Dean keep this up? His lies are already weak and Sam should be smart enough to suspect something is up.
Also, I know Zeke is a cool new toy to play with for the writers, but they have to stop using him to save the day. This is two episodes in a row where Sam gets knocked unconscious and Zeke takes over to fix everything.
I’m also curious about Zeke’s true intentions. I think we can all agree he didn’t give the WHOLE reason for why he didn’t want Cas staying at the Men of Letters HQ. He’s up to something, and it’s probably not good.
Finally, I loved the brilliant in-joke about how Cas mentioned that there’s “a lot to being human.” In case you didn’t get it, Being Huamn is the Syfy series showrunner Jeremy Carver did during his brief time away from Supernatural. That was definitely intentional.
Now bring on the flying monkeys!
