  1. I’m in the minority but with all this dumbing down I REALLY hope Castiel will eventually save them and not the boring MOL or Mary.

  2. Boy… After seeing some military in one of the pics I can’t wait to see how much the writing team screws up all the military etiquette and proper wear of a uniform. Pretty sure someone with SPC insignia will be called a Sergeant at some point. I’m pretty sure most will be totally out of regulations.

  3. Since they are having a having a hard time showing us Dean or Sam I am going to say this episode is Cas/Mary centered. I don’t give a rats arse about them. So I might pass on this one.

  4. I Don’t know why i even read Andrew Dabb interviews anymore they just get me more pissed off
the latest article it seems to me is that we will get Sam and Dean at the prison then we get a 6 week time jump and we will only see the 2 days 10 hours of there jail time i was hoping for the whole jail time but doesn’t look like it sounds lame and i don’t think Dabb or the Writers have the talent to pull off the show any more this is truly the only year where i haven’t looked forward to new episodes of the show

  5. I have been a fan since ‘Phantom Traveler’ & I will continue to be a fan, but I have been enjoying the stand-alone episodes from the last couple years(Baby, Red Meat, Asa Fox epi. from this year) not so much the season long stories(still not crazy about how Amara’s played out in the end)! *side note, mid-season finale & mid-season premiere last season was awesome)*
I adore Samantha Smith & Misha & Mark Sheppard, but truthfully, I’ve not been too happy since S10!
I’ve said this before a few times…I wish Kripke would come back!!
Am looking forward to the way the rest of the season plays out though, as always!!

  6. re watched the extended trailer again and i just picked up on the fact that at 0.21 Sam and Dean are in the woods and either Sam or Dean i swear they say Deal to someone since spoilers out there that the British men of letters help the Winchesters Escape Prison did they just make a deal to work for or with the British Men of Letters because i don’t think they would be saying Deal to either Castiel, Mary They have said in spoilers that the Men of Letters are trying to get the Hunters on Board with their Methods any way it just a theory and if it is true it a dumb pilot twist for the writers

  7. The premise of this episode is ridiculous, because I can’t accept that, with an Angel and a demon as allies, Sam and Dean can’t be broken out from jail. This would be acceptable in the first 3 seasons and even the 7th. I just wonder what will be the excuse to leave Crowley out of this.

  9. To be this episode looks really dumb and for me it is an insult considering this one is the 250th episode they should of done something great with it there is not many shows that get to 250th and all the ones before supernatural has done something special this just looks dumb as i said to me it’s a insult that this is just like any other episode because they have it in their minds that they want to get to 300 so forget about this special on on to the bigger ones i tell you if the seasons after this one is more of the same it won’t get to 300 and the 250th episode was a missed opportunity to the fans like fanfiction was on the 200 also i find it intersting that we don’t know the writer or director of episode is

  11. The writers and showrunner are phoning it in, I predict next season will be the last. It is time, I have remained loyal to the show as many of you have through the ups and downs each season.
There are still a lot of good standalone episodes, but the writers and the showrunners are just not interested and are surviving purely off of ratings. I believe even the actors are tired of the same characters and request time off frequently not only due to expanding families, but because the show is stale and repetitive.

    Comment by Jayday — January 5, 2017 @ 5:33 pm

  12. Well from a recent interview Dabb gave regarding the state of the world since Dean and Sam are in jail is that the world is better. Evidently Dean and Sam are expendable. It sure is amazing how Dabbs true colors are coming out now. He totally doesn’t respect what Kripke built and the characters Kripke made. Dabb is all about his own characters. This is a show that is supposed to be about 2 brothers-hero brothers and them being important to the world. Not according to Dabb. Hell anybody can do what they do. Some can do it better and learn it faster. Hell if I just discovered this show -Dean and Sam aren’t the main characters nor are they even important anymore. Gawd I wish I could break my addiction to Jensen/Dean and stop watching this show. But I admire Jensens work and I admire what he brought to Dean. And Dean as a character is the best there is on my screen at the moment. Jensen/Dean doesn’t deserve the crap writing and ignorance of Dabb and these new writers. At least Jared/Sam still gets hero worship from these writers. (the episode where he gets shot and keeps on rockin it. Or gets his feet burned but still gets up standing like nothing happened. Dean gets pie on his face, can’t crawl over a fence. Yep not looking good in my eyes anyway.

  13. I know the writing on the show has frustrated a lot of people, but wait 10 years, Supernatural will be rebooted. The CW is redoing the show ‘Charmed’ and it has only been off air since 2005 and still reruns on TNT. I am shocked that ‘Buffy’ has not been redone. Perhaps Whedon can prevent it from a reboot, but there are so many more channels and everyone is looking for content, I would not be surprised if two new brothers take up the hunt in a 1996 Impala in the near future.

    Comment by Jayday — January 8, 2017 @ 1:58 am

  14. Yep I just read that yesterday about the Charmed reboot. Frankly Hollywood has lost any creativity and is doing reboot after reboot. So yea-Supernatural will be rebooted after the original is done.

SPN is still performing better then majority of CW shows ( its sharing #4 spot with LOT without having massive ratings lift due to crossovers).
Dont forget its syndicated ( running 4 eps/day from 10am-1pm on TNT,when freshly-syndicated Arrow was already booted to 6am/1ep/day, meaning its not doing well in syndication). Moreover: show sold to 55 countries+ top price for shows with 100+ episodes on Netflix (I’ve heard after each 100eps price goes significantly up),+ massive merchandise(coloring book was just released for sale)+conventions. All this makes SPN very profitable and not live-ratings dependent.
Meaning CW will renew it until it either drop below 0.2 or Js call it quit.

Anyway, I am happy I have boys for another year on my screen. Yay!

  20. In season 13 I want a love interest for Dean and it just so happens that 4 years ago Danneel was prompted about coming on the show. She kiddingly said “season 13″. Now people on twitter are telling her the joke has come due she has to come on SPN in season 13. I would absolutely love her to do that. As a human version of Baby, as a villainous, as just some hunter, as just some woman who needs saving I don’t care. I would just love her to come on the show. To see her and Jensen on screen together again would be this fans dream come true.

    Comment by animala — January 8, 2017 @ 4:35 pm

  21. @Jayday. I’m a huge fan of Charmed. I was against it because the show doesn’t need a reboot, but I found out this isn’t a “remaking” but a prequel, placed in 1976 before the Charmed Ones were born, not reimagining the old show’s canon, so it’ll give it a chance out of curiosity. But no, it won’t be the same without the original cast.

@animala. I think a Supernatural reboot is way more unlikely than most shows. Not saying it’s impossible, but Charmed was a extremely popular show which did very well in ratings. Most people know this show, but a very few people know SPN, and we all know this, we’ve known this since the first season. Charmed can be given a chance, SPN I doubt it, but who knows. Buffy on the other hand, I agree, I can see it happening. It was a very popular show too.

Thank you for the explanation, I wondered why the show was not only a hit on the CW, but also on TNT. It is hard for me to believe a show about supernatural events, demons and angels would outperform more formulaic tv shows, but I’m glad it is.

Despite my criticism of the writers and even the actors, I will watch the show to the end. The show has so much potential, I don’t get the lack of focus each season.
I wish Kripke would return, but I think Timeless is a hit so he probably won’t be back.

    Comment by Jayday — January 9, 2017 @ 10:17 pm

  27. Supposedly, The Lost Boys will be the new vampire show after Vampire Diaries ends and based on comments above about Charmed, it will also start in the 1970s & each season goes to the next decade. I don’t think going back that far time wise will work, but we will see.

Sam-centric episode: I read on Twitter how Jared was on set while Misha and Jensen were on vacation, so there may be one coming.

CW is full of superhero shows, but I read Black Lightning superhero may be added at some point. If the show is added, Supernatural ratings stay decent and the Js want to continue, Supernatural will stay around for some program diversity.

On a side note, I have no idea how a show like Crazy Ex can stick around and Hart of Dixie got the ax!

    Comment by Jayday — January 9, 2017 @ 10:37 pm

  28. jayday, I heard the reason Crazy Ex-Girlfriend doesn’t get cancelled is because it’s one of the few CW shows that actually wins awards (that networks care about) like Emmys and Golden Globes. Crazy Ex and Jane the Virgin are probably the networks most critically acclaimed shows.

    Comment by hadrian — January 10, 2017 @ 3:22 am

  29. @25 – That is a very cute and sweet picture of the Ackles family! Those are a couple of really adorable babies!

I think a few of the episodes in early season 12 have been pretty Sam heavy, especially American Nightmare, where Dean/Jensen literally disappeared for at least the last 1/3 of the episode.

I think Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin give The CW legitimacy as a “real” network because they have both been praised by critics. The Foreign Press (Golden Globes) seems to love both of them. The ratings are bad for both shows, but I think The CW will keep both shows around as long as they can.

I think SPN will go past season 13, but not much longer. I don’t think Jensen and Jared were joking when they talked about how 300 episodes sounds good, but I think they kind of got their hands slapped for discussing a possible time to end SPN. To get to episode 300, I believe that will be about midway into season 14.

I know the Js make a lot of money per episode and I know they love the cast and crew, but, at some point, they’re going to want to spend more time with their families and not do the weekly international commuting. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the goal really is episode 300.

The showrunning and writing, though, has been horrific, especially recently, and I fear the show will really limp along to get to episode 300. The mid-season finale was just really awful. Finishing season 12, all of season 13 and half of season 14 – that’s a lot of episodes to have to write and I don’t know if this current crop of writers can do much better than what we’ve seen in season 12.

Timeless actually far away from hit, its underperforming for NBC to the point of being in danger of cancellation. I think it will be cancelled after 1st season, so Kropke will be free, however I dont thing he’ll ever come back. major reason – he has NBC contract and now too expensice for CW. He is out of reach for SPN.

    @29 Bree
I agree that stretching show to 300eps will be a challenge with current writing quality. But this show is real cash cow for WB and CW and it still has to fall dramatically in order to deliver cancellation numbers. Its going to be pretty much up to Js to stop this limping machine until it runs itself into a ground. And Js will stay with a show for a couple more years: they both have/will soon have 3 kids and probably this is their last chance to cash out big.

    Comment by AAA — January 10, 2017 @ 11:50 am

  31. Well, that, and Kripke did what he wanted to do with SPN. If he’d wanted to stay, he would have.

Kripke wasn’t innocent of the same sloppiness the current writers have, he just made up for it with his writing *style* Things were cooler back then, and the boys were heroes, not navel-gazing manic depressives. :)

  32. For me i don’t think there is any hope that this season they going to turn the show around i mean when we get new episodes it still going to be the same show runners and the writers and they have done such a horrible job this season to begin with i haven’t liked one episode this season and i am not looking forward to the show coming back like i usually do
i knew it wasn’t going to happen but i was actually hoping this year was it for the show i mean what in god’s name are we going to get this season and next if the staff stays put. The J’S have said in the past if the story isn’t there then it time to end it well the story isn’t there anymore and both the show runners and the writers are the worst so it time to end it. By now it looks like everyone is in it for the money not for the quality of the show so end it why fans still love it don’t drag a once wonderful show down to the ground. if the J’s want more time off i would knock of some of the conventions and spend more time with their family then instead of going into the conventions for Money i mean what they make in one episode would cover me in my expenses for five years

    Comment by Keri — January 10, 2017 @ 5:40 pm

  33. The conventions have really helped the show, they allow people to connect with the actors even actors who portrayed characters who have been killed off. I am shocked more shows don’t do this because it has kept Supernatural going strong.

I have also said the actors and writers seem to be doing for the money. Money doesn’t cause bad writing and we know the Js can act well. How hard is it especially going into next season to have all of the writers develop one big bad and structure the season around that bad. How difficult is it to maybe do 18 vs 23 episodesth, so the Js can have time off and the 18 episodes are bro-centric.

The writing drives the show and all the writers have to do is look at the structure of the first two seasons. They knew there would be a season 12 & 13 anyway, the opportunity to have a long game was there. These problems are solvable and could have been fixed long ago. In my opinion, this show has always been treated poorly by the showrunners, writers and network. It was the show where no one cared if it succeeded and yet it did. I watch the superhero shows and they look like movies, the stories are deep, the costumes are elaborate and the special FX are first rate.

This show and the actors who work so hard on set and at the conventions deserve better. Perhaps I am too critical, thoughts?!

    Comment by Jayday — January 11, 2017 @ 12:37 am

  34. There are rumors going around that Andrew Dabb is out and Jeremy Carver is back. It’s based on a tweet that Jim Michaels sent out with the cover page to the script for episode 15, which lists Carver’s name and Dabb’s name isn’t there. Compare it to the tweet Michaels sent out for episode 14, the script still had Dabb’s name on it and no Carver. So, people are wondering if there’s been a change.

I don’t think Carver’s other show (the one he left SPN to do) has done well, and is probably going to be cancelled. So who knows? I don’t think Carver was a great showrunner, but I do think he was better than Dabbs. Season 12 is just a hot mess, all jumbled up, no direction, it’s just all over the place. I may not have liked some of what Carver did, but there was at least some consistency and some direction.

Kripke had his issues, and I think his seasons were helped by having better writers (Raelle Tucker, John Shiban) and having Kim Manners I think made a world of difference (RIP Kim). But, I think he loved the show and the actors and had a passion for the show more than all the other showrunners did. If the show were to end with episode 300, I wouldn’t mind seeing him come back as showrunner for a shortened season 14 to end the series.

    Comment by Bree — January 11, 2017 @ 5:05 am

  35. Well, for me Kripke is almost perfect. Not saying I liked every choice he made, but he made things interesting, he knew the characters, he made sure everything made sense and he had a plan. I really liked his style, and re-watching the old seasons, everything is lightyears from what we have now. And no, he never made the mistakes Carver and Dabb did, not by FAR. He made the show we all fell in love with, so much we are still here despite the incompetence of the following showrunners (except Gamble, who I think did the best she could given the circumstances).

@Bree. Interesting, thanks for the info. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I would take Carver over Dabb, and you all know how much I despise Carver. Dabb is not only as sloppy, desinterested and careless as Carver, but he’s making the show boring and not focused on the brothers.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 11, 2017 @ 1:14 pm

  36. How much does the Js earn per episode? Any idea, i’m just curious to know.

    Comment by kelly edwards — January 11, 2017 @ 3:40 pm

  37. If you watch the first 2 seasons, the structure is fairly simple. The brothers unite to find the demon that killed their mother and during the journey take side cases. How hard is this to replicate?!

Create a big bad, possibly with a relationship to the brothers past and over the course of the season, they figure out a way to kill it. The big bad cannot be an angel or the devil as in past seasons. It must be terrestrial and not a human or CGI’ed monster, use makeup and costumes (see Buffy). The MOTW episodes sometimes tie in with the big bad, mostly not. A new monster each season and there you go. Crowley and Castiel should not continue to drive the show along the angels and demons storyline. Do something NEW!

    Comment by Jayday — January 11, 2017 @ 7:19 pm

  38. The Kripke as show runner sure there was bumps but i remains my fave seasons to date
Gamble was i thought was the weaker show runner but compare to Dabb season so far is better but ran to more towards Sam stories to dean i’m more into dean story lines but i still love Sam stories
Carver i liked him as a show runner but he had a lot of misses ie Dropping the demon dean story line to fast i mean i wish it ran longer and he had the seasons that brought us Fan fiction,Baby, and just my imagination, but then the ending to season 11 Sucked so bad but that was also Dabb was involved in that so it not all him

and i think there are few story arches that are fresh and new but they decided not to do them ie Dean killed death i mean what happened with that did they get a new death. does Death no longer exist on supernatural it would of been such a cool story idea also there is Billie and the void that would be a pretty cool story line that could of been Fresh and new and then there are heaps and Heaps of Urban legends that they could do but they no longer do them.

Now there is the Dabb era of story runners and he is by far the worst the show has ever had. having new writers to the show hasn’t help the issue and they look like they have never seen the show with the way they writing
Dabb it looks like is a real Cas fan with him giving three precious episodes to him ( i thinking it because of Jensen and Jared growing family but couldn’t they have come up with something else) also they have created truly characters with Mary and the Men of letters i was thinking Mary was such a great idea but what they done with her is boring i have no real hope for this season and unless something changes which i don’t think it will i hate to see what they do next seasons this is the only year i have not looked forward with new episodes which is the first year it has ever happened with the show

As per TV Guide Jensen was making 175k per episode in 2014. Jered was t listed there, but if you google it he was making 150k at the same time. Idk why there is a difference, may be JA was more expensive to begin with. Anyway they are both wealthy man by now, most paid actors CW and pretty in line with others on major network channels. Most of as now making in a few years what they make in 8 days

Thanks so much for the link to the photo of the beautiful Ackles clan, and congratulations to the Js and all the SN family on lucky 13!

  43. Here was part of the tCA Winter press tour for the CW About supernatural

Before the applause, but after an announcement of renewals for seven dramas, including a season 13 pick-up for Supernatural, Pedowitz joked about one of the most regular TCA queries by asking, “Are there any Supernatural questions?”

Of course there were, specifically wondering whether anything short of the two stars leaving could kill the series.

“I was hoping for a bar mitzvah this year for a 13th season,” the exec cracked. “I think it was a way to honor it, 300 episodes, 13th season. You can never tell. Look, I said this ad infinitum. I’m sure you can quote me. As long as it’s performing and the boys want to do it and I’m sitting in this chair, this show has a long life.”

in part it good to hear that about supernatural but the question still remains should the show go one with the current show runner running the show into the ground with his ideas and bad Writers i mean if he continues to be show runner what are we going to get in quality

    Comment by Keri — January 12, 2017 @ 8:53 pm

  44. By the way, I agree with most everyone about the writing; it’s awful.

To me, the basic reason why is simple. Earlier SN writers took their subject matter seriously. Whether they believed in the supernatural or not, these writers handled legends, lore, and traditional religious beliefs with conviction and moral earnestness. As a result, the audience was able to share that conviction, suspend disbelief, and, for the space of an hour, live in a realm where demons, monsters, ghosts, etc., became terrifyingly real.

But beginning around S5 or 6, SN became dominated by secularists who not only don’t believe in the supernatural but can’t or won’t pretend they do. In fact, they seem determined to use the series as a propaganda vehicle for mocking the very existence of any realm beyond our own. Parlor tricks aside, angels, demons, monsters, Satan–even God–are portrayed as no different from ordinary, run-of-the-mill nasty, neurotic, greedy, lustful humans who have nothing better to do than while away their time getting drunk, laid, or massaged when they aren’t riding around in limos, snarling like two-bit gangsters, running companies, or giving rock concerts before screaming fans.

What we have now isn’t Kripke’s series. It’s a crappy, cartoon parody of Kripke’s series by a group of writers who don’t seem to have the slightest understanding of what supernatural horror is all about. It’s not about blood spatter, decapitation, disfigurement, explosions, catapulting bodies, etc. Nor is it about monsters and demons who have no more in common with the supernatural than kids in Halloween masks. Genuine horror is about raw terror of the unseen, the unknown, the unknowable. As H.P. Lovecraft said, “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” Unless and until the writers put the unknown–the supernatural–back into SN, the show will continue to be nothing but silly, superficial, adolescent camp.

Any writer who wants to make this show great again should go to a rainy, remote location, watch early episodes like “Scarecrow,” pour over some ancient legends and lore, and, after turning out all the lights, sit long and quietly, thinking of the terrors of the grave.

    Comment by Taz — January 13, 2017 @ 11:55 am

  45. @43, I overshot your post, Keri. Thanks for the information! Your question is excellent. I think the present show runner can be successful but only if he has the intelligence and humility to choose to write the show EK created instead of trying to design his own. If he takes the narcissistic approach, he’s doomed to fail. The nature of SN was built into the series the first season, much as the basic nature of the two leads was established back then. Any attempt to distort that nature is bound to destroy the integrity of the show and alienate most fans. People don’t switch on SN to watch a different program.

    Comment by Taz — January 13, 2017 @ 12:24 pm

  46. Eric Kripke said the show is about family, I think he meant the relationship between the brothers and their parents. I believe that idea even extends to Bobby, Ellen, Jo and now to Castiel and Crowley.

I feel the show lost its way from the first 2 seasons because of Kripke’s focus on the relationship between Sam & Dean too much rather than the story and the villain. It is also possible to explore the brother’s relationship through the villain or events in the story. It is this reason that we had so many seasons of the brothers mistrusting each other and fighting.

The show should return to focusing on the story which includes the big bad and developing a story that is strong for the entire season. The show would be more entertaining and the ratings would improve because new viewers would be drawn to the show. The show has been on 12 years, I feel the writers feel ‘if ain’t broke don’t fix it’ rather than trying to make the show better.

Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

ANGELS AMONG US – Lily Sunder (guest star Alicia Witt) steeps herself in black magic, honing her powers for over a century, waiting to exact revenge on a band of angels that murdered her family. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must work quickly to stop Castiel (Misha Collins) from becoming her next victim. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Steve Yockey (#1210). Original airdate 2/2/2017.

  48. Oh COME ON! So this is another one of poor Cas can’t save himself and humans need to rescue him?

I’m out. This is gonna suck.

    Comment by Robin — January 14, 2017 @ 12:41 am

  49. This will go like:

Castiel being captured like an idiot getting knocked out easily by a dumb witch. Dean and Sam save poor Castiel.

Please prove me wrong and give the angel some badass scenes.

  50. Just saw the episode Cast for that episode.. Misha is not in it from what I can see so its probably not Cas centered.

Also really scared that the british mol will save sam and dean instead of cas and mary

    Comment by Robin — January 14, 2017 @ 5:37 am

  51. i think that the British men of letters are the ones that are going to save Sam and Dean because i swear in the extended trailer for up in coming episode i hear either Sam and Dean say Deal when they are in the woods they wouldn’t be saying Deal to Cas and Mary

    Comment by Marie — January 14, 2017 @ 12:57 pm

  52. so these are the latest Supernatural episodes coming up
regarding dean is the memory lost one and stuck in the middle is the Cas one other then that haven’t seen any spoilers for rest

    Episode 12.11 – Regarding Dean
Episode 12.12 – Stuck in the Middle (With You)
    Episode 12.13 – Family Feud
    Episode 12.14 – The Raid
Episode 12.15 – Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell

    Comment by Keri — January 15, 2017 @ 1:05 pm

  53. Ummm I am a little confused. The next episode is episode 9. It was stated by Dabb I thought I read somewhere that the first 2 episodes in February would be Cas centered. So episode 9 -January episode 10 and 11 are the first ones in February. So “Regarding Dean” is more a Cas centered than a Dean centered supposedly. Jensen never said that that episode was centered around him. He said he just enjoyed filming it. Infact I am not sure I read anywhere by the people in the know that that episode is Dean centered. Just that he is deaged. And if you go by Dabb-that episode is actually Cas centered.

    Comment by animala — January 15, 2017 @ 3:24 pm

  54. Infact episode 12 is the one that Richard Speight directed. I don’t think that one is cas centered. Oh NO!!! I am talking myself out of watching the de-aged Dean episode. If that is cas centered Gawd the crap that could be in that episode.

    Comment by animala — January 15, 2017 @ 3:31 pm

  55. I way it’s looks to me is episode 9 is the first one returning and they in prison episode 10 is the Cass one episode 11th is the dean one and don’t quote but rumor is that stuck in the middle is also a cass one

    Comment by Keri — January 15, 2017 @ 3:42 pm

  56. When the spoilers came out for new episodes they mixed up the order or names for them toyet understanding is 9 is prison 10 is the cass one 11 is the dean one and rumor is stuck in middle is Cass one

    Comment by Marie — January 15, 2017 @ 3:47 pm

  57. I just looked at wiki -I read that what happens with the lily episode (episode 10) carries into episode 11-Dean de-aged. Lilly is a witch that has a big problem with angels / Cas. So you guys can use your imaginations to figure how that is going to work. Stuck in the middle is directed by Speight and J2 are the only actors listed at the moment for that episode. Not looking good for the De-aged Dean episode. Cas centered would be first 2 in February- episodes 10 and 11- and then the other cas centered is episode 19 so they say.

    Comment by animala — January 15, 2017 @ 3:51 pm

  58. If you are correct Marie and Keri then your saying Speights episode is cas centered? hmmmmmm I didn’t read that but I hope you two are correct. Because as I see it – it would make more sense that 10-the witch episode puts a spell on Dean (de-aged) episode 11. Cas feels guilty watching what is happening to his friend ect ect ect….. and does something stupid in 11 like they always make him do. We will have to see. I truly hope you two are correct.

    Comment by animala — January 15, 2017 @ 3:58 pm

  59. The show is driven by the conventions. Why not bring some of the humor and action from the convention into the series. I have never been to one, but with Richard Speight and some of the names of the past on the convention circuit, it could be fun.

    Comment by Jayday — January 15, 2017 @ 4:23 pm

  60. i Always thought that the Speights one was the Dean memory one but i got confuse by what Jared and Jensen was saying at there last convention because Speights was the director on the episode the week his twins were being born because he rushed the taping along so he could leave so i not sure if he is doing two together or his ones is spaced apart

    Comment by Keri — January 15, 2017 @ 6:03 pm

  61. Confused also which episodes are which at the moment but i thought the Dean memory one was 11 but previous spoilers has placed the memory one at 12 and the cas Episodes are two episodes together at least we get the trailer for the next episode straight after watching an episode so we know which ones are which as i attend to miss the cass ones for now

    Comment by Marie — January 15, 2017 @ 6:06 pm

  62. so here is the low done on who writing and directing next batch of episodes i always thought that Speight’s one was the Dean memory one but he’s doing stuck in the middle the one called Regarding Dean sounds like the memory one since it got Dean in the movie and there is a movie called Regarding Henry with Harrison ford about him having a accident and started to act different sound like the same thing for Regarding Dean guess i could be wrong at least we will get the trailers when the episodes finish for the next week so we are prepared not looking forward to one that has worst writing team on the show you know which team i talking about

  65. wow some spoiler news are behind this is what i got from one entertainment site
EXCLUSIVE: David Haydn-Jones has landed a recurring role as the mysterious Mr. Ketch on the CW’s long-running fantasy drama Supernatural. Teased in the fall-finale episode in December, the character is an associate of the British Men of Letters – a shadowy organization of monster hunters operating in the UK. He’s suave, handsome, totally competent — and a sociopath. He will make his onscreen Supernatural debut January 26 in the midseason premiere episode ominously titled “First Blood.”
he made his first appeared in potus not the up in coming one but in saying that it does look like the Men of letters are going to help get Sam and Dean out of Prison

  66. i have to say this is the only year that i have not looked forward to supernatural returning for new episodes this season has been the worst one yet. i usually always enjoy bit of seasons that have been weaker but this year it all been bad and expect for the dean memory lost one there is nothing really to look forward to. I wasn’t even happy to hear that the show had been renewed every year i wait to hear the news that i fave show has been renewed but this year all i could think was wow another year of crap

    Comment by Kate — January 16, 2017 @ 7:22 pm

  67. @64 It’s really unfortunate that Jensen has had to turn down the various different movie roles that he has been offered because SPN/CW/WB won’t work out Jensen’s schedule to allow him the time to film the movies. Every time I see something about Deadpool, it kills me.

Misha is a different story because he doesn’t have the same filming schedule/obligations that Jensen has. Misha isn’t needed as much on SPN as Jensen is, so he has the flexibility to film other things, plus Jensen may have a non-compete clause in his contract that wouldn’t allow him to do guest work on certain networks.

As far as Gilmore Girls, it was just 1 day of filming.

Jensen at this moment in time appears to have chosen his family over ambition, and I say good for him. Jensen posted that adorable family picture last week and Danneel posted an equally adorable photo yesterday of Jensen holding one of the babies (most people seem to think it’s his son, Zeppelin). Jensen is talented and I have heard from people I know who have friends in the industry that there are people who want him for movies (one is a screenwriter who has vowed to get him in one of her movies) and a male actor in Hollywood doesn’t have the issues that female actors have with age. So, I don’t think age in general will be a factor for Jensen. I do think both DC Comics (owned by Warner Bros) and Marvel are interested, and considering how long it takes for their movies to get made, SPN may be over by the time some of those movies are ready to be shot. I also wonder if Jensen and Peter Roth (head of WB Television), don’t already have some sort of deal or have had talks, including with DC Comics. Jensen seems very happy, and that is what is most important.

(…but I still hate that Jensen had to turn down Deadpool…have I mentioned that before? LOL)

@66 I agree, I’m not really looking forward to SPN returning, other than the Dean memory episode, none of the other ones sound exciting. I am not an Alicia Witt fan, so I’m not looking forward to her episode.

We’ll have to see if Andrew Dabb gives any more interviews about upcoming episodes, to see if he’s still around or not.

  70. Supernatural Wins People’s Choice Awards 2017 For Favorite Network Sci-Fi/Fantasy Series
i hope it was for last season not this season because this season sucks so bad and not worth a vote

    Comment by Keri — January 18, 2017 @ 9:24 pm

  71. I know that we criticize the show because we love it so much and want it to be good. The alternative is the show ends and all of us can’t get together once a week to discuss the show. You must say, there is no other show on tv like it. Think about it, Supernatural still winning awards after all these years.

    Comment by Jayday — January 19, 2017 @ 12:03 am

  72. Looking back, season 11 was pretty damn good compared to this crap.

They just had to make a few changes and end the show with God/Cas/Amara going to heaven.. Crowley returning to hell and Purgatory being locked with the Leviathans/Vampires etc. in it.

And the winchesters being a family again.

  73. i do love the show but this year has been a real disappointment there is still bits of it i loved this year but and it’s a big butt but the show runners and the writing team has been sub par this year and i i haven’t enjoyed it like i used to and i fallen asleep a few times while watching it or i done other things while watching and i never done it with the show before it used to be no one dear call me during it and i usually turn off my computer this year i been doing it more and more this year

the thing is i love Sam and Dean as characters and both Jared and Jensen inhabit the characters so well but the writing and show runners are truly bringing down the show so not enjoying it anymore

    Comment by Keri — January 19, 2017 @ 12:52 am

  74. Congratulations to SPN. Too bad this “award” doesn’t mean anything and have been mocked by the show itself. For the first time ever, I don’t think the writers deserve any awards anymore.

See, having a loyal fanbase sometimes is not so good in terms of quality. If the writers feel like we stick around no matter what, they become lazy and sloppy. I feel like in the Kripke-Gamble years, they were always trying to make a good show so people stick around. Now, even in the middle of this crappy season, a few fans vote countless times to make them win an undeserved “award”, because they are just happy that the show is still on. Not that this “award” means anything, but we, as fans have become indulgent.

I imagine the writers like “Why shoud be bother with trying to be good writers? This idiots just want to see Jensen, Jared and Misha.”

The CW President, Mark Pedowitz, isn’t doing the show any favours by saying things like “as long as Jared and Jensen want to do it, the show will be still on”. If that’s the only thing needed, why should the writers make any effort?

  75. Who here looked at the Trailer and what cast and show runners when the season hadn’t yet started and was excited to see this season i for one was very looking forward to this season and it looked really cool . But then the season started and it has gone to shit ever since every time i read an article With Andrew Dabb i get pissed off for what is coming up it sounds like in the articles that he loves the way things are going and that they didn’t use Cass or Mary much because the British men of letters were to heavy focus in the first bit did i fall asleep doing these parts because they were barely in the episodes. Both Dean and Sam aren’t written liked they usually are so they are out of characters for both of them. We got articles that stated that cass would be like season four Cass again did i miss this bit because he is actually more weak this season then any other season. Don’t get me started on how they wrote Mary i mean one minute she was alive then she left for some episodes. And then one Min Dean is angry with Her for leaving then next couple of episodes fine with it. Crowely is now the sidekick to Cass and that is all he is doing wasn’t he Evil once And don’t get me started on the poor dumb ass decision to bring back Lucifer and now they have to deal with the Devils baby Yawn is this the first time Dabb has seen the show this has been done before can’t he come up with anything more exicting than this for the show. and are all the writers this is their first show because they writing like it is. i see no hope for this season and now they have renewed early so it gives them more time to work on story i see next year going to be the same pile of crap that it is this year. i can’t believe Jared and Jensen want to stick with this Crap surely it for the money now. they have always said that if the quality goes now they end the show well the quality is crap

  76. @67 I work as a law enforcement officer with Ryan Reynolds’s older brother and have hung out with him on several occasions. That’s like heaven for me because I’m a Marvel Fanboy Geek, like the ultimate one. I enjoy watching Supernatural and think Jensen’s an ok actor but I would like to know why you think he turned down Deadpool? I’ve heard from the horse’s mouth who was considered for Deadpool and Jensen wasn’t one of them. I’m not trying to be snarky, I’m just wondering.

    Comment by Denis — January 19, 2017 @ 11:59 am

  77. @76
Jensen wasnt considered for main role, he was considered for one of the supporting roles. he said it himself during one of the cons. I doubt he would lie on public like that. Again, he was considered, but not OFFERED because CW said no from the very start.

To all: I agree that this season sucks, but I think you guys are too negative (as always). But whatever.
Think about it : CW approves every single story line, every script goes through editing. You would think whoever is in charge should kick writers butt by now, or replace the show runner. Lets see if Dabb will stay for next year.

  78. MISSED OPPORTUNITY FOR 250TH
i am very surprise that they were arrogant enough to think that the 250th episode wasn’t worth an special episode to be there thinking was they let this one pass and they do something for the 300th episode they do realize that getting any tv show to 250 is very special and it not like they didn’t know that this episode was coming up they could of done something special instead it sounds like the first blood episode will be just another episode the only difference is that Dabb and Singer are the ones doing it

  79. “Regarding Dean” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

DEAN LOSES HIS MEMORY – Sam (Jared Padalecki) enlists Rowena’s (guest star Ruth Connell) help to track down an old world, powerful family of witches after Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets hit by a spell that is rapidly erasing his memory.

now what Dabb is saying about episode Executive producer Andrew Dabb shares that Dean will not change physically or even go senile. In fact, Dean will become childlike and it is a natural result of many years of hardships. While at first, it will be fun for the viewers to see the character being goofy and lovable for a change, the situation will quickly become worrying when Dean starts forgetting his brother and even his old self.

“[Dean is] trapped in a Memento-type loop, where he’s kind of losing his memory a little bit,” the EP teased, according to TVLine. He adds: “For him, as someone who struggles with all the baggage from years and years of doing a very, very difficult job, it almost becomes freeing, in a way. So you’re going to see a Dean that is a lot more fun and childlike. Jensen [Ackles] does a great job. Then it becomes a much more tragic story as he starts to forget Sam — and himself.”
John Badham directed the episode written by Meredith Glynn ( that interesting because i thought Speight was doing this one so i wondering which one he is doing) i know he is doing two this year one must be a Cass one and not sure about other one but doing the conventions Jensen wife had just given birth the day before and he was telling that he got out of there early because Speight was directing and they were at one point to episode 14 so maybe the 15th episode )

for now on any spoiler i do post i going to do what webpage are saying about episode and then if there is a Dabbb interview about it i going to post that as well as it is interesting to see what the webpages are saying and then what Dabb is saying about things because every time i read something Dabb says i get pissed off what he is saying because it always sounds bad

    Comment by Keri — January 20, 2017 @ 1:15 pm

  80. DIDN’T THEY ALREADY INTRODUCE THIS CHARACTER ???????

This spoiler has been on a few spoilers webpages i find it funny because they are behind in there spoilers or didn’t know that the character was introduce

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will see the introduction of a new villain. According to Deadline, the CW series has cast David Haydn-Jones to play the role of Mr. Ketch, a “suave, handsome, totally competent” associate of the British Men of Letters. Mr. Ketch’s name has been mentioned before the show went on its winter break. Sam and Dean should be very careful around him, as he has been teased to be a sociopath. It has been previously revealed that the MOL were not the ones who abducted the Winchesters. This does not mean though that the secret organization does not mean them harm.

i LOL When i read that the character was mentioned before the show went on winter break he was actually one the show last episode caught up The CW on your spoilers or maybe Dabb

  81. That powerfull witch will that be the same one that wants to kill angels?

Also lol @ mr catch bullshit, he already appeared. The writers used him to dumb down Castiel again.

    Comment by Robin — January 20, 2017 @ 5:37 pm

  82. @78,Michelle. But why should they be doing sanything special with the 250th episode? (such a random number anyway) The 100th episode was a bigger deal, but nothing special was made. It was just a one more VERY GOOD episode of the season. No homage, no stupid meta, just a fucking good episode moving the story forward. I would rather have one of those.

Maybe the will do something for the 300th episode. MAYBE. That’s a number that makes more sense. But just because they did it once doesn’t mean the have to do it everytime, specially if they fuck up by dropping a storyline with a lot of potential like Demon Dean so we can have a special episode like the 200th episode.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 21, 2017 @ 2:45 am

  83. @76 Denis. As a Marvel fanboy myself, lucky you! But yeah, as @AAA said, Jensen was just considered for a supporting character, but being the star of a show like SPN with its 23 episodes per season and so focused on its only two lead actors, it’s really hard to do something else at the same time, specially if he’s trying to spend more time with his family. Maybe he hadn’t got the role anyway, who knows, but his schedule with the CW sunk any chances.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 21, 2017 @ 3:00 am

  84. I just saw the season 12 season teaser. It was very interesting but we got a few staple “scenes/lines” that I just am tired of seeing. We get the Sam scream again. We get a cas torture or beaten up scene again. And once again we have to affirm that Dean considers cas as a best friend again. NOt big deals I know but something fresh and new would be interesting. I wonder if we are going to get the staple “Caaassss” from Dean as well? Anyway the teaser did look very good and eerie. You hear Dean going thru a list of people he remembers and it is heartbreaking. Its amazing how Jensen can make you feel something by just hearing it without context or seeing it visually. Amazing actor.

  85. There is a con this weekend. Hopefully we get good questions to J2 about the season and where it is going because frankly nobody knows what is going on or what the point is.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 6:46 am

  86. @animala, Castiel is Dean’s ONLY friend, of course he’s the best (now that Benny is dead). The bar is not that high. We already knew that anyway. He’s said it several times, including last season finale. As you said, not big deal.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 21, 2017 @ 9:20 am

  87. @Emmanuel-Yea but “cas is my friend” would have been more realistic. They kept it simple and non- personal with Sam and Mary- Sam = brother, Mary = mom, but noooo they had to throw in “best” friend with cas. Infact just friend would have been more realistic after all the crap and mistakes cas has done thru the years. Like beating up Dean, breaking Sams wall, lying about what he was doing regarding the MOC. But whatever-I know they have to make it more than what it is for the “fans” right? Infact you could say there is confusion because last year Dean told cas he is Sam and Deans brother. Now he is a friend.? Oh well. Its a minor thing just a writing hiccup as the usual.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 10:21 am

  88. I am still curious how they are going to soften Mary since it still looks like she hadn’t had any connection/relationship with the brothers for at least 6 weeks ect ect ect. I don’t like her at all and that’s unfortunate for me as a viewer since season 1. Love the actress. She is doing a good job acting just hate the character.

  89. sore trailer this morning looks good but in saying that there other trailer memto;s in reverse looked great and then we got the lamest most boring episodes episodes

i think some of the teaser was the Cass episode 10 when he lifted up his shirt with the black veins bit because he posted a picture of his face with black vein before hitas and maybe dean saying Sam is brother, Mary is mother, and Cass is best friend could be the regarding dean one

The Teaser looked cool but i been lit down with the teaser trailers before as i said the memto one in reverse was cool but the episodes suck so i not putting much hope in this season

    Comment by Keri — January 21, 2017 @ 11:41 am

  90. @animala you’re being a hypocrite a little.

    – Dean also beat up Castiel
    – let Castiel down when he tried to save them (season 6). Of course cas made the wrong moves, but his intentions were good. How many times did Dean and Sam almost destroy the world trying to do good?

I think Sam, Castiel and Dean all did bad things under influence of evil.. or, to save eachother. They’re all even when it comes to that.

Also what beat up did you mean? In season 5 he deserved it and in season 8 he was under Naomi’s control. Dean on the other end beat up Castiel while he was only trying to help him (of course because of the mark)

    Comment by Robin — January 21, 2017 @ 11:57 am

  91. @Robin- Dean didn’t deserve being beaten up -especially by someone like cas-an angel who was just following orders and not making his own decisions at that time. Dean was making his own decisions at that time and if cas was a friend he should have trusted Dean to make the correct decision at the end -Like he did by the way . Cas was being a dick period and wasn’t under a spell. Dean beat up Cas 1 time-and frankly if you want to say deserved-cas did because cas was lying to Dean. Cas has beaten Dean up what 4 times maybe more and never apologized as I recall. Dean beats up cas 1 time -apologizes and refuses to be healed as self punishment. Not a friend in my eyes. Cas has caused more harm to the brothers and the world than the brothers ever have. The brothers fixed their errors and fixed cas’s errors. Cas caused the problems and never fixed them.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 12:06 pm

  92. Cas in season 6 was a selfish bas*ard. He was lying to Dean and Sam that whole season. And once again because of him and him only thinking of his self importance-the levi’s were released. Lisa almost died, and yet dumb ass Dean forgives cas. Ridiculous IMO cas has never been a friend let alone a best friend. But hey-the writers and fans want to say he is so he is. I call BS but whatever.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 12:11 pm

  93. Well I guess we disagree. I think Cas did a lot of good things and the Winchesters also acted selfish at times.

Btw just watched the trailer. So powerful, all of the lines we hears… too bad it will probably be a shit episode.

    Comment by Robin — January 21, 2017 @ 12:15 pm

  94. Lets see Sam and Dean destroy the world? – I don’t know- the demons being let out was on Jake and YED-not the brothers. Sam saves the world s5-no thanks to cas who is helping to get Dean out of the way so the apocalypse can happen-cas beats up on Dean. Cas lies and ends up opening up purgatory and releases the Liviathins. LIsa almost dies ect ect… in that season. Dean goes to purgatory. Still not seeing the brothers ending the world yet but they did save it though. Cleaned up cas’ mistake. We had the trials but it was cas who caused the angels to fall because once again he made a wrong choice. Dean gets MOC but fights it and deals with it but cas goes behin his back and helps to release the Darkness. Dean saves the world by talking Amara down. Anybody want to refresh my memory and tell me what actions by the brothers didn’t come originally from cas making a mistake to cause the earth to be in peril. I am sure I am missing something. Or is it really all cas’s fault directly or indirectly.?

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 12:21 pm

  95. And once again this season-he is an idiot and lets lucifers child mom get away from him and he doesn’t go back to help Sam and Dean at the hotel. Afterall he did hear the agents come in and say to the brothers “you are under arrest”. I guess I finally stumbled on why the writers have kept cas around these years. He is the once causing all the havoc directly or indirectly.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 12:25 pm

  96. One thing though

    Cas fixed Metatron problem
Cas helped Dean kill Dick Roman

2 of his problems he (helped) fix.

He also played a major role in Swan Song blasting Michael away.

Broke Sams wall but took over his hellpain as punishment

Punished himself by staying in Purgatory

Tried to close the gates of heaven but got tricked (exactly like sam got tricked by Ruby in season 4, making him think he did the right thing). Like I said he also fixed that problem.

Also Dean pushed Cas away because of ‘Gadreel’ when he turned human.

And in s5 Castiel gave up heaven FOR Dean. And in return Dean was willing to turn himself to Michael.. he did deserve that beat up.

Castiel tried to stop Dean from going darker and he got his ass kicked, how was that deserved?

Also Dean beat Sam up, and the other wah around.

I’m not trying to defend Cas or blame Dean, but all of them made bad choices, and all of them did their best trying to fix it.

  97. I truly think you are biased against Castiel lol

    Comment by Robin — January 21, 2017 @ 12:30 pm

  98. As for the current promo-IMO from what I have read Deans story is going to be more about cas than him. Yea we will see Dean deaging/loosing his memory but the true story will be cas and his neglect, his regret, his reason for being. I hope I am wrong but it sure seems to be going that way. I am saying the Dean episode-not Dean centered. Its going to be cas centered. Hope I am wrong and Dean gets an actualwhole episode but I really don’t think so.

  99. @Robin -lol- Sorry- I really am. I don’t like cas at all -nor do I like Collins. Just tell me to shut up and I will. LOL> I will right now without you telling me. lol.

  100. I am done with whiny, regretting Castiel though. We’ve seen enough of that in season 9, 10 and 11. That last line, ‘not letting any of you die’, I hope that will be the biggest part of this.

    Comment by Robin — January 21, 2017 @ 12:35 pm

  101. Haha no problem, I do agree with some of your points, I just don’t think its fair to blame him for things and let dean and sam off the hook.

Lets just hope all characters will be more like themselves unlike the first half of this season..

    Comment by Robin — January 21, 2017 @ 12:36 pm

  102. ONe thing-cas really didn’t do anything in Swan Song-blasting Michael away really didn’t help-Michael would have just stood by and listened to the convo between Lucifer and Dean. Lucifer could/would have killed bobby/cas either way. Cas wasn’t the savior in any of those things you listed other than Metatron. And frankly he let him out again later on -sooo eh on that point.

And as for those other things-the wall-heaven, ect…were directly due to his actions not the brothers. but the brothers had to help cas fix those problems-all of them.

As for Dean pushing cas out of the bunker-Gadreel told him to. Dean couldn’t take the chance that Sam would be safe if he didn’t follow gadreels orders. I still don’t understand that argument that Dean was lying to Sam when it came to Gadreel. Dean tried to tell Sam on a few occasions but Gadreel always took over Sam before Dean could say something. Hell Dean even tried a spell to keep Gadreel in the backround but that didn’t work. That whole scenario was on cas as well since Gadreel wouldn’t have been on earth if it wasn’t for cas.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 12:45 pm

  103. OOPS sorry-tell me to shut up -I promise I won’t get mad. LOL.

Yea I hope the story is better second half of season. I don’t see it though. Lucifer baby is just ridiculous. BMOL ect… I need more. I need to know why Lady Bevill was such a bi*ch. why bring the BMOL into the story at all? Especially into the Winchester story. Mary’s story is just plain disappointing. What idiot in the writers room thought it a good idea to write Mary as a cold heartless b*tch toward her boys? Confused yea maybe for one episode but for 9? ugg.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 12:56 pm

  104. I never said he was actually the savior, but he did help (or tried to) fixing them.

    – he tried to stop sam from killing lucifer by sending Dean. He was too late, sure

    – blasting michael away maybe didn’t help but he did stand by them

    – he broke sams wall, which he fixed by taking over his pain. He did that, and punished himself too.

As for the other things: its not about whether he made the wrong choices: all of them made bad choices. But its about the intention.

He never meant to make the angels fall, he was misleaded. How could he have known? Like I said exactly like Ruby misleaded Sam.

He also wanted to stop raphael because he wanted to bring back lucifer. Yes, in that season he was a dick and should have been honest, I’ll give you that.

In 7, he helped killing Roman.. he wasn’t THE savior, but without him they couldn’t have done it. In the first episode he was under control of all the power, yet he never hurt Dean or Sam.

In 8, he was under control. At the end he wanted to fix that but trusted the wrong person (adressed that earlier)

In 9, without him Dean would have killed Sam when he was a Demon. Sure, Crowley was also a hero by giving Cas some grace. At the end he saved the world from ”god” metatron, even if it was in a lame way.

In 10, he felt responsible for Claire. Sure the storyline was terrible but it shows he has a good heart. He also helped trying to cure Dean. You are reaching blaming this on Cas since he wanted to stop. It was Sam who wanted to continue, knowing that it would do something bad. Of course Cas also continued , but I blame Sam more.

In 11 he made a bad mistake by releasing Lucifer. Again it was trying to do good, but yeah dumb.

How many deals did sam and dean make, knowing something bad would happen? If you want to go back… if it wasn’t for Deans deal, Castiel wouldn’t have been needed to save him from hell (also forgot to mention that).

Yeah mary story is terrible. I’m having a feeling she will kill herself or go with billy. Would be soo selfish.

Mol are also boring.. they are not a fan of sam and dean but that toni woman seems to have a personal issue with them.

    Comment by Robin — January 21, 2017 @ 1:47 pm

  105. The only thing I cannot forgive Cass is regarding Sam’s soul. Castiel pulled Sam’s body away from Hell, but his soul was still there. He didn’t know, sure, but when he learnt Sam’s soul was still there he tried to convince Dean to LEAVE IT THERE beacuse he didn’t want to see him suffer (???). Sure Cass, because any suffering would be worse than eternal torment in Hell with the Devil himself. What an asshole. He didn’t want to save Sam when he broke his wall either, but in the end he took his pain and did the right thing. He deserved it.

He never took blame for his involvement in the Apocalypse either, unlike Sam and Dean, so there’s that too.

Castiel is the only character that has fucked up things more consistently than Sam and Dean. When the brothers do this is to protect each other, because they are each other’s weak spot. I’ve always said Dean’s friendship with Castiel is terribly one-sided. As Dabb said recently “The connection Sam and Dean have is not a connection that Cass can have with either of them”.

There’s “family” and then there’s FAMILY.

I know Cass intentions were good most of the times. He’s been an ass to the brothers sometimes, but the brothers have been too. The problem is that the character has lost his purpose on the show.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 21, 2017 @ 2:49 pm

  106. Actually if you wanted to -you can blame cas and the angels for Dean going to hell and Sam drinking blood and that whole thing. After all the angels wanted the apocalypse. In order for that to happen-Dean had to break the first seal. First seal was in hell. Dean had to go to hell therefore you could say the angels/cas had to put Deans fate in their hands to get him in hell and then to get him out. YOu could-in a stretch blame cas for Dean going to hell. Thus setting in motion Sams decent into demon blood and all that.

  107. By the way, Jim Beaver is deleting all his social media due to the cyber-bulling of the fake social justice warriors that pollute this fandom. I don’t blame him. The poor guy seems truly hurt. You are better off, Jim.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 21, 2017 @ 3:02 pm

  108. I think cas’ biggest mistake and one he did purposely (you could say he accidently left Sams soul in hell) was break Sams wall and the whole casgod thing. Those were strictly on him and he was a di*k to the brothers. I just don’t see him as a good friend lest a best friend. But you know a certain group in the fandom are just so excited for their ship due to the best friend deal. So theres that and the fandom gets fed again regardless of how silly the feeding is.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 3:05 pm

  109. Emmanuel- I saw on the con hashtag that people were saying to give JIm a hug and tell him you. love him. What is the story -I don’t know what the fake social justice warriors are -whats the story?

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 3:07 pm

  110. @animala. Basically, Jim made an unfortunate tweet in a humorous tone about an attractive young lady he saw at the airpot. It wasn’t offensive and it was a joke, but the over-sensitive people in this fandom called him mysogynist, anti-feminist, sexist etc. He mentioned he’s tired of getting people offended no matter what for all this years.

Funny thing is, the people who called him those things are the same that objectifies the male cast of the show, constantly tweeting about their sexual fantasies involving them pretty contantly and explicitly. Apparently, Jim making a fairly harmless joke about some random attractive lady is gross, but when they tweet the cast about explicit PORN they make about them or when the flat out say they want to fuck them, that’s ok and nobody should call them out on it.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 21, 2017 @ 3:24 pm

  111. @Emmanuel-man that’s too bad. I am so sick of these people who call fowl or get upset so easily. They are bullies. I could get political here and mention this march going on today but I won’t. I feel bad for Jim-but yea he is probably better off without the social media headache.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 3:32 pm

  112. Wait, so Jim Beaver saying he had a good day because he saw an attractive women gets him kicked off Twitter, but Misha saying his best moment was fucking Jared’s wife is “just a joke”?

This is the same fandom that got mad when Jensen said he didn’t want to talk about butt sex and wanted to send him lube to make him uncomfortable.

    Comment by hadrian — January 21, 2017 @ 4:11 pm

  113. yes it is the same set of bullies. Evidently whats good for the goose isn’t good for the gander. Man has that been played out this political season and today.

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 4:20 pm

  114. @hadrian. Exactly! The poor man doesn’t deserve this. What I cannot stand is the hypocrisy.

My mention of Jim’s situation doesn’t have anything to do do with anything else happenning today. My intention was never to bring up non-SPN related stuff. Let’s get along and focus on the fandom’s matters only, please. ;)

    Comment by animala — January 21, 2017 @ 5:13 pm

  116. The angel/demon story should have ended when Dean came back from purgatory, then he decided to close the gates of hell forever. The show needed a new direction at that time, it never got one.

The show has remained on so long because of the conventions and fan support, but I don’t blame Jim Beaver for getting tired of the overreaction of people on the internet.

    Comment by Jayday — January 21, 2017 @ 5:32 pm

  117. Agree jayda I really believe that if the showrunners would have rode out the original backlash to Gamble in s6 and never brought back cas I really think the show would be a much better show today. There are so many stories that they did that didn’t need the angels/demons in them. There are so many more that they could do without them as well. Its a shame that back in s6 they got nervous about the backlash and didn’t trust that their show could bring in new viewers even without the angels and demons.

‘Supernatural’ season 12 spoilers: Be prepared for big Jensen Ackles episode in ‘Regarding Dean’
    JANUARY 21, 2017 BY COMMENTS

We know that there are many “Supernatural” fans out there who have been waiting rather patiently for a big Dean episode, and based on what we’re hearing, there could be just that coming in early February.
On Thursday, February 9 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern (remember that the show’s getting a new timeslot), we are going to have a chance to check out “Regarding Dean,” which should be a nice showcase for one Jensen Ackles. Here’s the story: Dean gets hit by a spell, one that causes him to slowly lose his memory. For Ackles, playing this is probably going to be a fun challenge given that he is taking on effectively different variations of the same character over time until we end up seeing a Dean that is for the most part a shell of his former self. There is something about this that could be rather sad, but luckily, we don’t think it will come to that given that Dean’s going to have a little bit of help.

This is where Sam comes in to the rescue! We are going to see Jared Padalecki’s character recruit Rowena in an effort to try and figure out a way to properly ensure that a powerful family of witches is found. Maybe this group can help to reverse the spell that is affecting his brother, or maybe they are the ones responsible for causing the problem in the first place. Either way, it feels imperative that they are found so that the story can press on.
For everyone who loves Dean, we imagine that this episode will be powerful stuff. If you’re partial to any of the other characters on the show, have no fear — we’re certainly confident that everyone from Sam to Castiel have some other great stories of their own coming up this season. As a matter of fact, we’ve already posted a story talking a little bit more about what you can expect to see from Castiel during one important story coming up in just a matter of weeks.

  119. Well that write up makes me feel 100% better. Hopefully it delivers what it sounds like. J2 day today at the con. Hoping we get show questions and not the boring prank questions.

    Comment by animala — January 22, 2017 @ 6:19 am

  120. Well this just in- question at con-why is it ok for Dean to have a crush on Dr Sexy but not ok for destiel and deans bisexuality? Jensen answeres -1) DESTIEL DOES NOT EXIST, 2} Dean was a fan of the show not the character. BOOM! I just wish Jensen would have put the whole destiel thing back to where it started which was on Misha. MIsha started that and it grew from there.

I think the end of the show is coming. Or maybe Jensen was kinda pissed that so called fans hurt Jim so much yesterday-but Jensen is not playing the game anymore. Coo l imo. Its about friggin time they put it to rest.

  121. Looking forward to Regarding Dean & Stuck in the Middle.

Jensen is gonna shine in that episode.

Stuck in the middle is supposed to be about Castiels past; but will it really be about how he became gods chosen? I feel like this episode should have happened last season, with god explaining Castiel why he was his most loved.

  122. @120 animala. He had to do it AGAIN. I just hate fans put him on these situations. I just hope they don’t harass him too much just for pointing out the obvious and being honest. “SPN Family” they say. Suuuure.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 22, 2017 @ 12:38 pm

  123. I Know i always hate those kind of questions when they bring them up at conventions i live in Nz And so i don’t go to the conventions but i see them on you tube and i hate those questions it Pisses off Jensen so why do it to him there is more important questions to ask and now i have to figure out where the question is on you tube and go pass it because i hate it it was funny them explaining Squishy Bear though i lol when i saw clips of the kings of cons

    Comment by Keri — January 22, 2017 @ 1:13 pm

  124. Yep I have said that on more than one occasion. “spnfamily” yea not so much.

What gets me is she phrased the question as an accusation. The well dean “has” a crush on Dr Sexy so why isn’t destiel and deans bisexuality canon? Destielers are yapping because Jensen said it wasn’t real. He was stating the truth. Its not real as canon on the show. He didn’t say anything about destielers and how he felt about them shipping it. Just the facts on the show. Same about Dean’s feelings about Dr Sexy. She assumed that she was stating a fact-in which it wasn’t a fact.

I have a feeling though that this whole thing was a set up. Because she laughed when Jensen said it wasn’t real. Kinda like she nailed him or that she nailed destielers. (depending on where she was actually coming from) I don’t know. The whole thing seems fishy imo. I am glad Jensen finally set them straight yet again and loudly actually, but I wish he would have gone a little farther and educated the audience on where that ship came from and who pushed it in the first place. Yea Collins I am looking at you. Because of you Jensen gets all the shit and you look golden. ahole.

    Comment by animala — January 22, 2017 @ 1:59 pm

  125. Infact Collins why don’t you come out and backup your friend (supposedly a friend) and say the truth about Destiel. But he won’t because that is where his popularity is. Its within the Destiel fanon. He rode that against Jensen from the get go. Thus ladies and gentlemen is why I can’t stand Collins and I can’t stand his character. I wish Jensen fans would hound misha to help his friend out.

    Comment by animala — January 22, 2017 @ 2:52 pm

  126. I don’t follow fandom and cons at all, so I don’t know what destiel means (I get that its combo of dean and cass but why?)

Reading people talk shit about Jim because he complimented a beautiful girl is disgusting though. Jim/Bobby is the most important person on spn next to Dean and sam. And yeah I like Crowley and Cass, just can’t compare them to season 1-7 Bobby.

    Comment by Robin — January 22, 2017 @ 4:35 pm

  127. I think, despite our different opinion on Cas, we can agree that the least selfish person on the whole show is/was Bobby. Even compared to sam and dean.

I would have liked one episode with him and Dean though. I mean after his death Sam traveled with him through Hell and Purgatory *which was suddenly just a forrest instead of that deadly place* and the (great) episode where he linked up with Castiel in heaven.

Speaking of that, I watched ‘point of no return’ today and watching Cas kill 2 angels at adams grave, beating dean up, take out 5 angels without a blink makes me wonder again… why is he not even able to beat up a witch/angel or even a human these days? He got cut off from heaven.. but that happened in S5 too? It all turned to shit when he became human. In s8 the story wasn’t that good but at least he was powerfull and able to overpower everyone.

    Comment by Robin — January 22, 2017 @ 4:46 pm

  128. @127 Robin. Answering your question: because the writers we have now are incompetent. I honestly think only Kripke knew how to write the angels in an interesting and badass way. Not saying the angels weren’t badass at times after his departure, but they stopped being really fascinating and intimidating. I don’t think the current writers remember what Castiel can do. He was a badass warrior who didn’t take any shit, specially from humans. Now he’s a joke, and it’s sad because I really used to like him a lot.

    Comment by emmanuel — January 22, 2017 @ 5:01 pm

  129. Agree @emmanuel. Cas was still badass in s6/7/8 but less interesting. After the fall, despite getting his powers back, he was such a lame, weak being.. so sad.

  130. The CW has released the official description for the Feb. 9th installment of Supernatural titled “Regarding Dean”.

    Comment by Michelle — January 23, 2017 @ 2:42 pm

  131. Supernatural Boss Previews Three ‘Really Strong’ Castiel-Heavy Episodes
If the first half of Supernatural Season 12 didn’t contain enough angelic action for you, then you’ll want to tune in when the CW series returns with fresh installments on Jan. 26 (in its new 8 pm timeslot).
“We have at least three really strong Castiel episodes” coming up, executive producer Andrew Dabb tells TVLine. The first, airing Feb. 2, “presents a lost chapter of Castiel’s history.”
Viewers have long known that Cas “was part of the battalion that was watching Earth,” the EP notes. “He was the guy that harrowed Hell to rescue Dean Winchester. We established that, and now we’re taking a little twist on it and telling a lost story from his past that involves [guest star] Alicia Witt” as Lily Sunder, an old enemy of the angel.
The following hour is also “extremely Cas-heavy in a different way,” Dabb adds. “Then we have another episode coming up later in the season, Episode 19, that’s extremely Cas-heavy in an even different way.”
Dabb acknowledges that giving Castiel and some of the other series regulars their due while establishing Lucifer’s new vessel, the Men of Letters’ British players and Mary Winchester’s return proved to be a delicate balancing act.
“I think we did a fairly good job of keeping Crowley alive [and] keeping Castiel alive, but the new characters certainly ate up a little space,” Dabb admits.
“We had to cram a lot into those [eight episodes],” he continues. Going into the season, “part of our concern was… that certain people, specifically Castiel and Crowley, are going to get a little bit of a short shrift as we establish these new characters and put them on the board.”
But that’s all poised to change in the back half of the season. “We have a lot more room to play,” Dabb says. “Those characters are going to come to the fore a lot more.”

The following hour is also “extremely Cas-heavy in a different way,” Dabb adds. “Then we have another episode coming up later in the season, Episode 19, that’s extremely Cas-heavy in an even different way.” The following hour i confused by this it got the episode 10 one that is the cas one then the following hour is this part of the Regarding Dean one you would think that if Dean losing his memory you would think the whole thing would be about Dean that would make more sense

the See no Evil looked really good but i been disappointed before i loved the memto one and was so excited then we got all the crap episode so i taking this new trailer with grain of salt and not putting much hope in the new set of episodes the bar is very very low this season

  132. The men of letters should trick Sam and Dean into doing something presumably good yet it actually turns out that they’re shutting heaven and hell off forever. They could even play it that Mr Ketch is some manipulative shape shifting creature and there’s season 13 already lined up to be great. Sam and Dean run monster cases to try and find this creature, no extras just back to season 1&2 basics, Sam and Dean hunting.

  133. In for the cas episode about his past to be honest

    Comment by Robin — January 24, 2017 @ 3:15 am

  134. Sorry if I missed it, but do we know if the episode about Castiel’s past contains flashbacks? If that’s the case, when do they have place? Almost all of Castiel’s past is in Heaven. The angels didn’t walk the earth again until the Apocalypse, until Castiel took Jimmy as a vessel. So unless they show us big beings of light speaking in deafening enochian, I don’t know what are they going to show us.

He doesn’t seem to have an interesting past.
Everything interesting about him started with the flashbacks of “The Rapture”, and that episode was focused on Jimmy Novak, not Castiel. Other good Cass-centered episode was “The Man Who would Be King”, which was interesting because he was dealing with the betrayal to the Winchesters. But Castiel hasn’t been up to anything like that for a long time, so I don’t know what about his past is worth to show us that we haven’t seen already.
I just hope it’s not more of the Heaven’s politics, angst and moody looks. We’ve had more than enough of that, thank you.

also Sam attitude towards crowley in the La episode that was out of nowhere

  137. @131, Thanks, Rachelle. Whenever the producers say Castiel, Crowley, or other supporting characters have been getting “short-shrift” (or words to that effect), I know the Js have negotiated for more time off with their families. Oh, well. After all these years, who can blame them? But I do long for the good old days of S1-3.

  138. ‘Supernatural’ Season 12: ‘Modern Family’ Actor Officially Joins Cast; Episode 9 Plot Synopsis, Promo Clip Revealed

“Supernatural” Season 12 will be seeing more of Mr. Arthur Ketch this season. The hit TV series has added another good looking man to the already pleasant to the eye tandem of Jansen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. The popular US TVseries has reportedly tapped Canada-born actor David Haydn-Jones to play the recurring character in “Supernatural” season 12 According to Deadline, Davin Haydn-Jones has been cast to play the mysterious Mr. Arthur Ketch in the upcoming episodes of “Supernatural.” The character of Mr. Ketch was first seen in the mid-season finale of the “Supernatural” Season 12. The handsome actor has also appeared in “Mistresses” and the hit comedy TV series “Modern Family”.
The character that is played by Haydn-Jones is a member of the British Men of Letters. This underground organization is said to be engaged in hunting monsters in the UK. In the “Lotus” episode, Mr. Ketch discussed that he was sent by the British Men of Letters to strongly encourage the Winchester brothers to cooperate with their organization. Mr. Ketch is also seen showing the Winchester brothers the arsenal of weapons that his organization was able to create. Sam borrowed one of Mr. Ketch’s weapons, the hyperbolic pulse generator, to send Lucifer back to his cage.

  139. I think the very idea that Castiel is the topic of several episodes tells you why people are frustrated with the show. I would rather have 13 Sam & Dean heavy episodes than 22 episodes where S&D are only in 16 of them. It would be better to have it as a summer show than water down the show.

Kripke is on Twitter trying to get people to write in to support Timeless, so previous posts about the show struggling are true. I suggested in a post, Kripke should come back to Supernatural & be showrunner. I would love to see some new shows on CW from Kripke, Supernatural has never gotten the respect it deserves from the CW or from most of the showrunners following Kripke. It is hard for me to understand how a show with such a huge following takes that support so lightly.

  140. Mr Ketch is a terrible character. Hope he is gone soon.

Also, do people really want more dean and sam lying to eachother and whining?

  141. @139 Jayday
Kripke was so desperate on Twitter regarding his show renewal it made me cringe. To the level of being pathetic. And when it didn’t work, he start begging fans to tweet their “support” for “Timeless” advertisers. Like “please, tweet Target we’ll by more of your c&^%^p if you continue advertise in Timeless”
I do like Eric, he is farther of my favorite show, but I’ve never seen before this kind of desperation from show-runner on public. I feel sorry for him.
And no, he wont come back to SPN even if Timeless is cancelled. He is too expensive for CW now. He plays in different league: big shows, big channels, huge financing, huge salaries. SPN is small underdog show on small channel. Cheap and cheaper.

  143. well supernatural starts again tomorrow and for once i am not dying to see it this has never happened on the show i usually dying to see new episodes
i see no hope for this season unless a miracle happens and Dabbs turns things around but with his interviews he been happy with what the show is producing i mean come on how can he be happy with it has he seen the episodes

The sad thing is there was a chance that they could of turned things around gone back to what they had promised at the beginning 1. go back to season one format which i see as more monster of the week urban legends 2. bring back More season 4 Cass now we know that has not happened as he is weak as ever

there was a bit of spoiler came out just a the beginning of them started the season that the way Sam and Dean deal with the men of letters was different Sam was all about hearing them out and Dean didn’t trust them so they were at odds which my thinking again was not i hoping it doesn’t go any further then Sam calling the Men of Letters i mean WTF they tortured him and then they call them that still pisses me off

The other things they could of changed or possible plot
Mary she was brought back from the dead if she was up in heaven the Angels would know that she was brought back and they she should be in heaven so they could of used that they trying to get her back to heaven ( i know i hate angels plot myself but in my option better then the devil again )
or the reapers could of been after her for being brought back from the dead it would of maybe could of been a reason for her not being in every episode )
The British men of letters or Mr Ketch should of been more full if they were going to be the big bad this season i mean expect for the girl that he killed that was all the bad we seen maybe as a plot thing they could of been full on trying to recruit hunters behind Sam and Dean back to be on there side and undoing all the good work that Sam and Dean done

Rowena they really need to decide what they going to do with her and stick with it either be on the show or get rid of the character if not needed

i know that Crowley and Cass won’t be going anywhere so they need to decide what to do with them that isn’t lame i mean what Crowley doing this year what would of been cool in my option is that he is trying to regain his power in hell
Cass What a mess the character is i mean he is weak and not very useful not what they promised that he be more like he was and his tone of voice is annoying me this season it putting me to sleep in the scenes that he in

this is just my option i know people has there own option this is just what i thinking

  145. Latest Andrew Dabb interview about what coming up

owever, when Supernatural returns Thursday with episode 250, we’ll find the boys — who were arrested for the attempted assassination of the president in the midseason finale — in a new kind of hell: a high security government prison.

“They’re kind of in a very real version of hell in some ways,” showrunner Andrew Dabb tells EW about the Winchester brothers’ latest stay in prison, which is more serious than their previous encounters with the law because “they’re basically being treated as terrorists. They are in our version of Guantanamo, this kind of black site. There are no visitors. There’s no cafeteria. It’s all solitary, all the time.”
In the winter premiere, we find out that Sam and Dean have been behind bars for six weeks, which is a long time for these brothers to be off the board. “I think one of the big things we’re kind of leaning into with this episode is that the Winchesters started off as two guys in a car driving around killing ghosts and vampires, and they’ve really evolved into the axis upon which the fate of the world turns in a lot of ways,” says Dabb. “We’ll sort of find that [there are] things Sam and Dean could’ve prevented and they didn’t on the monster side of things.”
Thus, Sam and Dean’s absence creates a power vacuum, which the British Men of Letters are more than happy to fill. “When Sam and Dean come back after this period of time, they’re walking into a world — it hasn’t turned a 180, but it’s a little different than when they left it,” says Dabb.
This will lead to the brothers having more interactions with the British Men of Letters, which will end up complicating what they think about them. Yes, there’s a lot of conflict, but the boys also realize that there is some common ground because they all have the same goal, which is to keep people safe. However, they differ when it comes to their methods.

“The question for Sam and Dean this season — and the question that the British Men of Letters really put into sharp focus — is to what extent do the ends justify the means?” says Dabb. “As Sam and Dean get back into it, they’re going to certainly see the negative side of the British Men of Letters, which is really all they’ve seen so far, but they’re also going to see that these guys actually know what they’re doing and they’re actually doing okay things.”
To be fair, Sam and Dean have debated “do the ends justify the means?” questions in earlier seasons, but this time will be different because they’re not only on the same page, but because of their experience over the past 11 seasons, we’ve seen the guys learn that not all monsters are bad. For example, the brothers routinely team up with Crowley (Mark Sheppard), the king of hell; and one of their best friends, Garth (DJ Qualls), is a werewolf. But, as Dabb notes, if the Men of Letters had their way, they’d kill Garth just because he’s a werewolf.

“Sam and Dean have inhabited what, for the British of Men Letters, who are a more dogmatic about things, is a the moral grey area,” says Dabb, adding that this will definitely become an issue when the guys turn their attention to dealing with the nephilim, i.e. Lucifer’s child growing inside of Kelly’s (Courtney Ford) womb.
“Yes, this is the child of Lucifer, but does this mean the child is going to be born evil? Does that mean the child could be come a force for good because it is powerful, because at one point Lucifer was good? It’s not Rosemary’s baby. It’s not somebody that’s going to give birth to this thing that is evil full stop. I think there is a real question of what do Sam and Dean do if they catch her?” says Dabb. “If you only land in the black and white, this is a bad thing and this could be a bad thing, and you take care of it. If you’re a little bit more morally sophisticated as our guys are, I think it raises a lot more questions.”

Sounds interesting but still not putting my faith that this season is going to get a turn around and be good

    Comment by Keri — January 26, 2017 @ 8:57 am

  146. Not interested in the nephilim story line at all. Not interested anything angel/demon. Especially angel related. Honestly nothing is exciting me about the show much anymore. Not interested in the boys learning once again that there is black and white and grey area in hunting. They learned that way back with Gordon and the vamps. And that’s been built upon since. Crowley, Garth, Benny, Lenore, the other teen werewolf ect…. Really we have to go there again?

I am interested in the brothers in prison. Too bad they get out in this episode. I am not so sure though that this episode is going to have a lot of the brothers. I am warily thinking this episode is going to focus more cas/mary. Which really doesn’t appeal to me at all. I am hoping she missed them sooner than the 6 weeks that they have been gone but from the promo ect… it looks like she really didn’t miss them enough to inquire about them until 6 weeks went buy.

From jaxcon Jensen said that Dean is trying to come to grips that Mary isn’t the mom he thought she was. He said Dean is learning what and how to act in regards to Mary. So I am guessing she is a cold fish when it comes to her sons. Again I hope I am wrong about that as well.

  147. I saw the sneak peek. Its the brothers in prison. That looks interesting. But again how much time are we going to actually spend WITH Sam and Dean? I am going to guess not much. We have seen lots of pics of cas/mary. We have seen different scenes of the two of them together. There are scenes with the Prison warden/SS guys. We know that the BMOL guy is important in this episode So how much time is going to be given to the brothers on screen? Too many players-But here is to hoping the second half of the season is about what makes the show great-THE BROTHERS- and not about the side characters.

  148. Here is my guess about this episode. The Sneak Peek scene will be in the first 10 minutes of the episode. We won’t see the brothers again until the second half hour of the episode. The fight scenes and Dean saying “deal” will come then. There maybe one more scene of Dean running in the woods with a bunny. NOt sure which episode that is in. Then we will see the brothers at the end of the episode. So basically brothers -very beginning – the middle – the end. 10 minutes to 15 minutes max. That’s my prediction. Am I wrong? Hopefully so.
