So who wants to make bets on how many times Dean says CAAAAASSSSSS in this one? I think we are going to get the Jared/Sam yell in this one as well. So over those. Not interested in cas either. So I might pass on this one. Watch it later so I can FF thru cas crap.
I mean how many f’n times do we have to see cas beaten up, tortured, and angels dying? How many times do we have to hear Dean say Caaaassss? How many times do we have to have the Jared/Sam scream? Gawd originality would be nice once in awhile with this show.
The “cas is my BEST friend” is total fan pandering. I hate fan pandering because it totally invalidates the chaglinracters and the relationships. Dean is loosing his memory. Cas is on the third tier of his memeory. Sam-my brother, Mary-my mother. Then we have Dean specifically say cas-my BEST friend. NO that’s not how memory loss would go. He would remember cas as a friend-Dean would remember “friend” but “best” is too specific for a memory loss patient. Frankly its BS. In fact most memory loss patients who are struggling like Dean seems to be in the promo don’t remember 1st child, second child, third child. They remember children yes but not irrelevant specifics of them like who is first or who that patient likes best.
Comes from magazine interview with Collins Supernatural dives deep into Castiel’s past in next Thursday’s episode (The CW, 8/7c) to reveal a not-so-angelic side of the Winchesters’ pal.
“We’re seeing the earliest version of Cas to date,” Misha Collins told TVLine on location in Vancouver during a break from filming the hour last November.
“We just came from doing a scene in an old church where we are dealing with some of Cas’ old battalion mates from heaven,” the actor teases. “It’s interesting for him to rehash old memories, for sure.”
Viewers will also get a glimpse into what the heavenly creature was like “before he was humanized a little bit,” star Jared Padalecki says.
As executive producer Andrew Dabb previously told TVLine, the angel “was part of the battalion that was watching Earth. He was the guy that harrowed Hell to rescue Dean Winchester. We established that, and now we’re taking a little twist on it and telling a lost story from his past that involves [guest star] Alicia Witt.”
In the above photos, Cas comes face-to-face with Witt’s Lily Sunder, who has “a history with Castiel, and it’s not necessarily a positive history,” the actress shares. “There’s perhaps a bit of friction there,” she says — and that’s putting it mildly.
According to the official episode description, Lily has been steeping herself in black magic for over a century “to exact revenge on a band of angels that murdered her family.” Wanna guess who her next target is?
@10 Robin-now you know I can’t when it comes to Collins/cas. It just frosts me how useless that character is. And the fan pandering that comes with only that character. Which totally invalidates J2 and their characters. imo.
There has never been a time thru the 9 years cas has been on the show that he should be able to hunt like the brothers on his own. He has never done it. He only has “hunted” his wn kind. Somebody correct me if that statement is wrong but I don’t think it is. His kill of Billie and the following speech was fan pandering so it didn’t impress me at all. The reason for that is Collins can’t act. His tone, his facial expressions, his demeanor, during that speech left me cold. What was he supposed to be? Mad, Sad, confused, triumphant? What? Collins didn’t express to me on screen any of those during that speech. The fact that it was expressed that the Winchesters are important was nice but frankly I would have enjoyed that declaration coming from Crowley. I don’t understand the Billie kill. But whatever. Another reaper dead. If the writers want to impress me with a reaper either bring back Death and with him bring back Tessa. Then I will be impressed. I miss them both enormously
Despite stopping Lucifer from his rise to power, the villainous character’s yet-to-be-born child will introduce one of the CW show’s interesting storylines. Recently, showrunner Andrew Dabb told Entertainment Weekly that even if Satan was vanquished from earth, his “influence will still be felt.”
Apart from the said character’s unborn child with the now pregnant Kelly (Courtney Ford), some of the stories and myths about Satan will also be featured in the CW series. Dabb teased that the upcoming “Supernatural” Season 12 episode 12 will involve a “long-forgotten Lucifer lore” given the said character’s unborn baby.
The “Supernatural” executive producer shared a similar statement in an earlier interview with Mashable where he talked about Lucifer and the said character’s powers. Viewers can expect to see story developments that will show that Satan will still able to orchestrate certain events even while encaged.
Dabb also commented on Lucifer’s unborn child and teased that the baby will be a boy. Referring to the devil’s baby as a “son,” the showrunner revealed that the introduction of Lucifer’s “powerful” child will mark the beginning of the series’ plotline about the Nephilim who are children born from a human mother and a divine being.
i don’t know why i read Dabbs interviews they don’t ever get me excitied about up in coming episodes
Yea-not interested in Lucifers kid. I understand they need this story for something for Collins/cas to do but still. We have been here. Done that. Over it. It will never be done better than it was in s1-15. And the fact that Dean and Sam weren’t even mentioned tells me a whole hellava lot.
May record this one so I can FF through all Cass. When I watch re-runs now I either mute or FF past his parts. Who in the world told the writers anyone would want to watch a whole ep of Cass they should just do away with this useless character
@20 Twh-did you see the sneak peek? Dean and Sam and cas in the impala acting like a bunch of women. Cas not talking to the brothers (or Dean-whatever). The silent treatment all around. Reminds me -but a poor example of -the Jo, Ellen, Dean, Sam drive home in that one episode where Jo was used as bait.-Can’t remember the name of the episode. Where Jo finds out John was kinda responsible for her fathers death. Yea-nothing original as I can see. Still looking to skip this episode.
Frankly everything I see where cas is involved is a story reordered, redone, and recycled from stories already done extremely better seasons ago. Collins can’t act at all-in fact in this sneak peek he looks and sounds ridiculous. Like he is a 5 year old that didn’t get his way. Nothing in the sneak peak has peaked my interest in it at all. Other than the shallow-my gawd Jensen looks fantastically sexy. And Jared doesn’t look bad either. Sorry-shallow I know.
i cannot believe that there is three Castiel episodes this year i mean he hasn’t been important to the story for years but they keep giving him episodes
i don’t understand why this had to be a Castiel episode i do understand the other two there will be one focusing on him soon as i think this will fit around when Jensen wife was giving birth and the Episode 19 one will around the time that Jared needs to be off for his baby girl but it does not explain why this one had to happen can’t they come up with another episode focusing on maybe Crowely instead if we have to have ones Wichester lite then i would sooner see Crowley than Castiel because Crowley has at least some character every time Castiel has been on screen and talking his voice drones on and makes me really sleepy he is so boring
Well keri-TPTB have to feed the destiel side of the fandom. And Jensen seems incapable of sticking up for himself or his character like he and Jared always say -“we are very protective of our characters”. Yea well I call BS. But whatever. So this episode is the destiel feed. They are already at it. Hell Jensen even said it doesn’t exist yet he lets the sneak peek scene come across like it does. Gawd he is so clueless sometimes.
@animala, they are not feeding Destiel fans because nothing is Destiel. Castiel being Dean’s best friend (and only friend really) is not Destiel. Dean calling Cass a brother is the opposite of Destiel (that’s what you’d say about someone you would never date: “I love you, but like a brother” ouch!). If the shippers freak out about their friendship, that’s on them, not on the writers. They are queerbaiting themselves. The issue was never in the writting but in how they “interpret” things. With that state of mind, it’s impossible that they don’t feel “baited”. The writers should be free to develop their friendship without caring about delusional people misinterpreting it despite being proved wrong over and over again.
I get they are extremely annoying, and they are going to pollute every single SPN related website with their delusions, but they are going to do that anyway, no matter if Dean and Cass get along or not. They never needed anything to feel queerbaited, just their twisted minds. So I wouldn’t blame Jensen for allowing this because he was never opposed to their friendship. Their friendship is canon, everything else it’s not.
I’m curious, why do you think the sneak peek suggests it exists? Freaking out about it is as pointless as the shippers freaking out about it too, for different reasons.
that said, I do blame the Js for the three episodes about Castiel. It’s not entirely because the popularity of the character and it’s definitely not about shipping because no one on the show takes that seriously. It’s about the Js wanting more time off, so that needs that some of the weight of the show has to be carried by supporting characters. Other than the brothers, Cass is the one popular enough to do this, more than Crowley.
@25 Emmanuel-good points in this response. But I wasn’t freaking out I was just responding to comments made on the video of the sneak peaks buy the usual destiel patrons so to speak. However I do think the whole scene is not realistic imo for 3 grown men in their 30’s. This is how children act and women act for the most part. Men usually yell at each other -get their points out and then they are done. They don’t do silent treatments. They just don’t.
I also blame J2 for the cas episodes. I have stated before my opinion on this. The show is either their show or its not. If it is then they need to show up. I hate the excuse “they need time off with their families.”. Bull. If that is so important-then move on from a show that films everyday of the week. Go do movies or do guest starring roles until you are ready for a full time job.
