Full Synopsis
CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI: An African man is driving
on a deserted stretch of road, listening to the radio.
It starts to cut in and out so he turns it off. Then lights
flash into car. The man looks behind, only to find a large
monster truck behind him trying to run his car over. Picking
up speed the man tries to get away from the large truck.
He then looks behind him again to find that it isn't there
anymore. Turning back around he finds the large truck
in front of him. He turns around but eventually the monster
truck catches up to him, swipes him off the road, and
kills him.
GAS
STATION: Sam is trying to explain a way to
get to Pennslyvania to Dean, who is on the phone. When
Dean hangs up he tells his brother that they are not
going to Pennsylvania, but to help out and old friend
who would "never" call if it wasn't important.
ON
THE ROAD: While driving Sam tries to pry into
Dean's affairs by defining what an "old friend"
meant. Her name is Cassie, and Dean and her apparently
went out for a couple of weeks. Dean also told her the
"family secret" which gets Sam annoyed, because
he had to lie to Jessica for 2 years.
NEWSPAPER
OFFICE: Mayor, Harold Dodd, Jimmy Anderson
and Cassie Robinson all talk about a newspaper article
on the deaths on the road. The mayor, Harold Dodd, wants
the newspaper to leave out certain parts. Jimmy insists
what they have found is more than a coincidence- 2 black
people have been killed on the same stretch of road
in 2 weeks. Dodd still won't listen and exits angrily.
Cassie then goes to her desk to find Sam and Dean already
there. Dean apologizes about her dad's death, the most
recent car killing.
CASSIE'S
HOUSE: Back at Cassie's house she explains
to Sam and Dean that she is worried about her mother
because she is very panicky. Dean and Cassie were sharing
some obvious tension between the both of them. Cassie
explains to Sam and Dean about how her father was killed,
and how he saw a big black truck appear then disappear
then re-appear. She revealed that the murder before
his was his car dealership partner. The mother walks
in very shaken. Sam and Dean want to ask her some questions
but she doesn't want to answer and goes upstairs.
WOODS/CRIME
SCENE : A car dented in the back, wheels still
spinning is in the woods with a man, appearing dead,
in the drivers seat. The big black moster truck is there
again, but disappears.
The
next day, the area is all taped up. The Mayor and Cassie
seem to be arguing about all the deaths. This time it
was Jimmy, the Afrian news reporter. Cassie believes
the roads should be shut down but he won't. There were
again only one set of tire tracks, so they see it as
an accident. Cassie believes the Mayor is racist, but
he gets offended and tells her to talk to her mother.
ROOM:
Sam and Dean are getting into tuxedoes as they are having
a conversation about Cassie. Sam notices that they never
look at each other at the same time. Dean just avoids
that topic.
BAR
& GRILL: Sam and Dean were in the suits
to talk to friends of Jimmy's. They ask about the black
truck, which the white man doesn't talk about but the
other black man does. He says that there used to be
a truck in the 60s, all linked to a long line of deaths
of black men. Sam and Dean thank them and go back to
their car.
Once
there they talk about the "Flying Dutchman"
which was a pirate ghost spirit. They thought that it
could possibly be the same thing except the spirit was
now inside the truck. Dean notices that all the people
are close to Cassie, Sam suggests he go talk to her.
Not just about the deaths but any unfinished business
they might have. Dean confesses that they had a relationship,
but she broke up with him.
CASSIE'S
HOUSE: Cassie is working alone on a tribute
to Jimmy. Dean walks in on her, alone. She tells him
how Jimmy was the first black reporter in the office,
and that he taught her everything she knows. Cassie
also asks where Sam was, which causes friction. Everything
comes out that they used to have a relationship but
things couldn't get serious between them. Once she says
sorry, they start to go at it. Cue the hot sex scene.
CONSTRUCTION
SITE : THe mayor is there rolling up blueprints.
He walks to his car to find that the Black Monster truck
is behind him. He starts to run for it but the truck
hits him and he rolls of a hill, dead.
BEDROOM
"The Morning After": Cassie and Dean
start to talk about their relationship and how all they
were good at were fighting and sex. Dean tells her that
he is still really involved with his dad's work. All
Cassie wants is honesty. Dean's phone starts to ring,
and its Sam on the other line informing Dean about the
Mayor.
CRIME
SCENE: Sam explains to Dean that the Mayor's
bones were all crushed and his internal organs were
like pudding almost as if a truck ran him over. There
were still no tracks. This time it didn't fit the pattern.
The Mayor wasn't black and he wasn't on the same road.
NEWSPAPER
OFFICE: Dean is there with Cassie trying to
find a connection. Sam calls to tell Dean about the
property the Dorian family used to own, which is the
same property the Mayor bought. The Dorian family also
owned the Newspaper that Jimmy worked at. A Dorian named
Cyrus vanished mysteriously after a string of black
deaths in the 60's. Apparently the Mayor knocked down
the Dorian's house on the 3rd. The first killing was
the very next day.
CASSIES'S
HOUSE: Cassie is in the house alone. She walks
to her desk to find the lights flickering. She hears
the monster truck outside. She shuts all the shades
and starts to panic. She picks up the phone and calls
Dean.
Later
that night Dean, Sam, Cassie, and her mom were all there.
Dean askes about the driver, but she couldn't see one.
Cassie said the truck just disappeared. Sam then questions
Cassie's mom about how her husband kept seeing the truck
before he died. She said he was dillusional, but Dean
pressures her into telling the truth.
Apparently
a man named Cyrus Dorian died more than 40 years ago.
Cassie's mom and Cyrus dated a while ago, but she also
was seeing Martin, Cassie's dad. She broke things off
with Cyrus and planned to secretly marry Martin, the
date they set was the day someone burned down the chruch
while a children choir was in it. They all died. Apparently
when Cassie's mom broke things off with Cyrus was when
the mysterious black murders occured with the black
truck. The last attack Cyrus had was on Martin, except
this time Cyrus got out of the truck to beat him, giving
Martin a chance to fight back, which he did. Except
he killed Cyrus. So Martin and his two friends put Cyrus
back into the truck and pushed it into the swamp, now
they are all dead.
The
Mayor issue was brought up too. He used to be a sheriff
back in the old days. He figured out Cyrus' death but
didn't do anything to Martin and his buddies because
he also knew what Cyrus was doing too. That was why
he also died.
OUTSIDE:
Sam and Dean try to figure out why the spirit
awoke. They figured that they need to destroy the body.
SWAMP:
Sam and Dean fish out the truck, take out the body and
burn it. They think that it's over until they see the
truck's lights turned on in front of them. Dean decides
to lead the truck away by going into his car while Sam
tries to figure something out. The truck is closley
following Dean, so Dean calls Sam but he has nothing
yet. Sam makes a call of his own, to Cassie for directions.
Sam calls Dean back to give him directions now, while
Dean is getting rammed in the back by the truck. Sam
finishes his directions and tells him to stop. The truck
comes speeding foward but then disappears just as it
reaches Dean.
Sam
told him to go where the church was burned down in the
60's. Dean asked how Sam knew it would work, but Sam
didn't, he merely guessed that some spirits can't cross
holy ground.
THE
NEXT DAY: Cassie and Dean say goodbye. Cassie
doesn't believe that things will happen between them
but Dean just says "I have seen stranger things
happen."
DRIVING:
Sam says he likes Cassie. He askes Dean if girls like
Cassie make him wonder if it's worth it. Dean doesn't
answer, merely falls asleep.
