Full Synopsis
Monument,
Colorado
Dean and Sam are in Bela’s apartment, and are
going through all her drawers and cupboards, looking
for the Colt. “Any sign of it?” Dean asks.
“Nothing,” Sam replies. “Are you sure
this is Bela’s room?” Dean pulls two wigs
out of a drawer and holds them up. “I’d
say so.” Just then the phone rings, and the boys
look at it, unsure what to do. Finally Dean picks it
up, but doesn’t say anything. “Dean? Sweetie,
are you there?” Bela’s voice asks. She is
driving in her car. “Where are you?” Dean
asks. “Two states away by now,” she replies.
“Where?” Dean asks again. “Where’s
our usual quippy banter? I miss it,” she says
to him. “I want it back, Bela. Now,” Dean
says. “Your little pistol, you mean? Sorry, I
can’t at the moment,” she says, glancing
sideways to where the Colt lays on the seat next to
her. “You understand how many people are gonna
die if you do this?” Dean asks. “What is
it exactly you think I plan to do with it?” Bela
asks. “Take the only weapon we have against an
army of demons and sell it to the highest bidder,”
Dean replies. “You know nothing about me,”
Bela says after a moment. “I know I’m gonna
stop you,” Dean answers. “Tough words for
a guy who can’t even find me,” she replies.
“Oh, I’ll find you, sweetheart,” Dean
says. “You know why? Cause I have nothing better
to do than track you down.” “That’s
where you’re wrong,” Bela replies easily.
“You’re about to become quite occupied.
Did you really think I wouldn’t take precautions?”
At that moment the door is kicked in, and FBI agents
and cops run into the room, pointing guns at them. In
a second Dean and Sam are on the floor, being handcuffed.
The boys look up and see that Agent Viktor Hendrickson
is standing nearby. “Hi guys,” he says.
“It’s been a while.”
Police
station
Hendrickson walks into a police station, and the sheriff
looks up. “Did you get them?” “Where
is everyone? I asked for all your men,” Hendrickson
says. “And you got them,” the sheriff replies.
“They went with you on the raid.” “Four
men. That’s all?” Hendrickson says irritably.
The sheriff tells him that’s all he could get
in an hour’s notice, and that they’re a
small town. Hendrickson doesn’t reply and heads
toward the area with the jail cells. There is a man
inside one of them, and after asking what the man is
in for, Hendrickson lets him go. The sheriff starts
to argue, saying Hendrickson can’t just release
his prisoners. “This isn’t how I’d
do it if I had the choice,” Hendrickson replies,
“but a tip’s a tip, and we had to move fast.”
“Look, Agent, this ain’t my first rodeo,”
the sheriff replies, following Hendrickson as he walks
away. “You ain’t never been to a rodeo like
this before,” Hendrickson says. “You have
any idea who we’re about to bring in here?”
“Yeah. A couple of fugitives,” the sheriff
says. “The most dangerous criminals you’ve
ever laid your eyeballs on,” Hendrickson corrects.
“Think Hannibal Lector and his half-wit little
brother. You know what these guys do for kicks? Dig
up graves and mutilate corpses. They’re not just
killers, they’re Satan-worshipping killers.”
A young woman working at a desk nearby reaches for a
cross around her neck. The sheriff says that they’ll
help any way they can. “Those men of yours,”
Hendrickson says, “Post ‘em at the exits.”
Dean
and Sam are led in with chains around their ankles and
handcuffs on. They pause to look at the sheriff and
his men. “Why all the sourpusses?” Dean
asks, smiling. Sam sees a sign on the front of the girl’s
desk that says “Nancy Fitzgerald – Secretary”.
She gives him an odd look and reaches for some rosary
beads that are on her desk. The cops start to pull the
boys away and Dean says, “Hey, watch the merchandise!”
Then, seeing Nancy watcing them with a frightened look,
he says “We’re not the ones you should be
scared of, Nancy.” The boys are taken to a cell.
They both start to walk in different directions, but
are stopped by the chains around their ankles. “Dean,
come on!” Sam says irritably. “Alright,
alright. Sit?” Dean asks, and Sam nods. They untangle
the chains and sit down on the bed. “How’re
we gonna Houdini out of this one?” Dean asks.
“Good question,” Sam replies.
Hendrickson
is making a call. “It’s me,” he says.
“Is Steven in? Well, get him out of the meeting.”
He takes off his bullet-proof vest. “Rose,”
says a voice on the other end. “I got ‘em,”
Hendrickson says. Rose can’t believe it, and Hendrickson
tells him that the boys are going to be at Super-max
by morning, taken on a bus-load of men. “A bus?
What, you trying to give me another ulcer?” Rose
asks. Hendrickson says they’re taking every precaution
they can. “Like last time?” Rose says sarcastically.
“And the time before that?” He says they
need a helicopter. “Whatever you think is best,”
Hendrickson replies. “Damn right. And I’ll
be on it. Can’t take you losing those boys again.
They have been a primary thorn in my ass for months.
So Viktor. Glue your eyeballs to ‘em till I get
there.” Hendrickson hangs up and tells the sheriff
that a helicopter is on it’s way. “But we
don’t have a landing pad,” the sheriff says.
“Then clear the damn parking lot!” Hendrickson
says.
Hendrickson
walks to the boys cell, and they look up. “You
know what I’m trying to decide? What to have for
dinner tonight,” he says, grinning. “Steak,
or lobster. I mean what the hell. Surf and Turf. I got
a lot to celebrate, I mean after all – seeing
you two in chains?” “You kinky son of a
bitch, we don’t swing that way,” Dean says.
“That’s funny,” Hendrickson says flatly.
“You know, I wouldn’t bust out the melted
butter just yet,” Dean goes on. “Couldn’t
catch us at that bank… couldn’t keep us
in that jail…” “You’re right.
I screwed up. I under-estimated you. I didn’t
count on you being that smart,” Hendrickson says.
“But now, I’m ready.” “Ready
to lose us again?” Dean asks. “Ready like
a court-order to keep you in a super-maxium prison in
Nevada until the trial,” Hendrickson cuts in.
“Ready like keeping you in a sound-proof windowless
cell that’s so small that between you and me,
it’s probably unconstitutional. How’s that
for ready? Take a good look at Sam. You two will never
see each other again.” The boys stare at him.
“Aw. Where’s that smug smile, Dean?”
Hendrickson asks. “You got the wrong guys,”
Dean says after a moment. “Oh yeah, that’s
right, I forgot. You fight monsters,” Hendrickson
says. “Sorry Dean, truth is your daddy probably
brain-washed you with all that devil-talk and no doubt
touched you in a bad place. That’s all, that’s
reality.” “Why don’t you shut your
mouth,” Dean says angrily. “But guess what?
Life sucks, get a helmet. Cause everybody’s got
a sob story, but not everybody becomes a killer,”
Hendrickson finishes. “And now I have two less
to worry about.” They hear a chopper coming, and
Hendrickson starts to walk away, saying “It’s
Surf and Turf time.” He laughs.
Hendrickson
goes out to meet Rose, and he holds out his hand to
shake hands. Rose puts a stack of papers in his hand.
“What’s this?” Hendrickson asks. “What
can I say? The FBI didn’t invent bureacracy, we
perfected it,” Rose replies. “You want me
to do all this now,” Hendrickson says, shocked.
“Sorry. Now, Viktor,” Rose says. “I’m
gonna go take a good little gander at our fugitives.”
He walks away.
Rose
walks into the holding cell area and closes the door
behind him. “Sam and Dean Winchester,” he
says. “I’m Deputy Director Steven Rose.
This is a pleasure.” “Well I’m glad
one of us feels that way,” Dean replies. “I’ve
been waiting a long time for you two to come out of
the woodwork,” Rose goes on. He then takes out
a gun, and shoots Dean in the shoulder. Dean falls back
onto the bed as Sam leaps forward, wrestling the gun
upwards and away from Dean. They struggle for a moment
through the bars, and then suddenly Rose’s eyes
go black. Sam immediately begins to recite an exorcism.
The demon is writhing around, but then suddenly stops.
“Sorry, I gotta cut this short. It’s gonna
be a long night, fellas!” he says, and then the
demon leaves the man’s body.
In
the other room, Hendrickson and the sheriff hear the
man yelling, and run into the room with their guns.
They yell at Sam and Dean to get on their knees, seeing
Rose laying on the floor. Sam says he didn’t shoot
him, he shot Dean, and puts the gun through the bars
to show he won’t shoot anyone. “We did not
shoot him. Go ahead, check the body. There’s no
blood, we did not kill him,” Sam says. One of
the men moves forward to check the body, and tells him
that Rose hasn’t been shot. “He’s
probably been dead for months,” Dean says. “What
did you do to him?” Hendrickson asks. “We
didn’t do anything!” Dean replies. “Talk,
or I shoot!” Hendrickson warns. “You won’t
believe us!” Dean says. “He was possessed,”
Sam says after a moment. “Possessed! Right. Fire
up the chopper, we’re taking them out of here
now,” Hendrickson orders. “Yeah, do that!”
Dean says. The deputy tries to call one of his men on
the radio, but it’s all static. After trying one
more time, Hendrickson makes him go out himself.
Outside
The deputy goes outside, and sees one of his men dead
on the ground. Going closer, he sees that everyone around
and in the chopper is dead as well. “They’re
dead,” he says over the radio. “I think
they’re all dead.” Right at that moment,
there is an explosion.
“What
the hell was that?” Hendrickson says, trying to
call the deputy over the radio.
The
deputy gets up off the ground, and sees that the chopper
is burning up. He turns around, and there is an agent
behind him. His eyes are black. He grabs the deputy,
and he screams.
Inside
jail
The remaining men are loading guns. They are trying
to call someone as well, but Nancy can’t get a
line. “The internet, my cell, it’s all dead.
How can it all be dead?” she says. Just then the
lights go out. “Well that can’t be good,”
Dean says from his cell. “Oh my God,” Nancy
says. The sheriff says it’s okay, they’re
leaving right now. “Nobody’s going anywhere!”
yells Hendrickson. “Everybody just calm down!”
The sheriff replies that their men are out there, and
Hendrickson agrees, saying that if they go out there,
they’re going to be killed too. “They’re
out there, and they’re coming in here!”
he says. “This is a siege!” He tells him
that he should lock the windows, bar the doors, and
act like trained professionals with some sense. The
sheriff and his last man go off to take care of everything.
“You okay?” Hendrickson asks Nancy. She
starts to nod, then shakes her head instead. “I
shouldn’t think so. Nancy, right?” he says.
“I’m gonna get you through this, you got
my word. You got that?” She nods.
Sam
is trying to take care of Dean’s shoulder, and
when he winces Sam says “Don’t be such a
wuss.” “What’s the plan?” Hendrickson
says, making the boys turn. “Kill everyone in
the station and bust you two out?” “What
the hell’re you talking about?” Dean asks.
“I’m talking about your psycho friends,
I’m talking about a blood bath,” Hendrickson
says. “Okay, I promise you. Whoever’s out
there? Is not here to help us,” Dean says. “You
gotta believe us. Everyone here is in terrible danger,”
Sam says. “Ya think?” Hendrickson says.
“Why don’t you let us out of here so we
can save your asses?” Dean asks. “From what?
You gonna say demons? Don’t you dare say demons,”
Hendrickson says, holding up his gun. “Lemme tell
you something. You should be a lot more scared of me.”
He walks away. “How’s the shoulder?”
Sam asks, seeing Dean wince. Dean shows him the blood
on the cloth. “It’s awesome,” he replies.
“I’ll live. You know, if we get out of here
alive. So, you got a plan?” Sam checks the back
of Dean’s shoulder, and Dean sees Nancy standing
in the doorway. “Hey, please, please, we need
your help,” Sam says. “It’s Nancy,
right? My brother’s been shot, he’s bleeding
really bad. You think you could get us a towel? Please,
just one clean towel? Look – look at us, we’re
not the bad guys, I swear.” Nancy leaves without
saying anything. “Nice try,” Dean says,
but in a moment they see her come back, with a towel.
“Thank you,” says Sam, smiling. She comes
forward and her puts her hand through the bars, but
suddenly Sam grabs her arm, pulling her against the
bars. She starts screaming, and the other deputy runs
in with a gun. “Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Dean
says, and Sam lets Nancy go. “You okay, Nance?”
the deputy says. “Try something again, and get
shot! And not in the arm.” “Okay,”
Sam says. “What the hell was that?” Dean
says angrily, whacking Sam in the arm after they leave.
Sam holds up her rosary beads, which he obviously stole
off of her.
Dean
is sitting with the towel over his shoulder. “We’re
like sitting ducks in here,” Sam says darkly.
“Yeah I know. Would it kill these cops to bring
us a snack?” Dean yells. They wonder how many
are out there, and Sam says they could possess anyone
and just walk right in. “It’s kinda wild,
right?” Dean says. “I mean, it’s like
they’re coming right for us. They’ve never
done that before. It’s like we got a contract
on us.” Dean smiles. “You think it’s
cause we’re so awesome? I think it’s cause
we’re so awesome.” Just then the sheriff
walks in, and opens the cell. “It’s time
to go, boys,” he says. “Uhhhh, you know
what, I think we’re just comfy right here. But
thank you,” says Dean, as the boys back away.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Hendrickson asks, walking in. “I’m not just
gonna sit around here and wait to die, we’re gonna
make a run for it,” the sheriff says. “It’s
safer here,” Hendrickson says. “There’s
a S.W.A.T. facility in Boulder,” the sheriff says.
“We’re not going anywhere,” Hendrickson
says firmly. “The hell we’re not!”
the sheriff says, and suddenly Hendrickson shoots him.
The boys then grab Hendrickson suddenly, shoving his
head into the toilet water, which they have turned into
holy water. Sam says an exorcism as he holds his head
into the water. “It’s too late!” says
Hendrickson, whose eyes are now black. “I already
called them! They’re already coming!” Sam
finishes the exorcism. Nancy looks at where Hendrickson
now lays on the floor. “Is he dead?” she
asks. But Hendrickson suddenly sits up, coughing. “Is
that you in there?” Sam asks. Hendrickson stares
for a moment. “I shot the sheriff,” he says.
Dean grins. “But you didn’t shoot the deputy.”
Sam gives him a look. “A few minutes ago I was
fine… and then…” Hendrickson begins.
“Let me guess, some nasty black smoke jammed itself
down your throat?” Dean suggests. “You were
possessed,” Sam says. “Possessed like…
possessed,” Hendrickson says. “That’s
what it feels like. Now you know,” Sam explains.
“I owe you the biggest I-told-you-so ever,”
Dean says, handing the agent back his gun. Hendrickson
gets the keys, and lets the boys go. “Alright.
So how do we survive?” he asks.
Sam
is spraying symbols on the floor with red paint, while
Dean is going over a map of the building, while Nancy
patches up his shoulder. The men bring out all their
guns. “That’s nice, but it’s not gonna
do any good,” says Dean. “We’ve got
an arsenal here,” the deputy says. “You
don’t poke a bear with a BB gun,” Dean says.
“It’s just gonna make them mad.” “What
do you need?” Hendrickson asks. “Salt,”
Dean replies. “Lots and lots of salt.” “Salt,”
the deputy says. “What, is there an echo in here?”
Dean asks sarcastically. “There’s road salt
in the store room,” Nancy suggests. “Perfect,”
says Dean. “Perfect – we need salt at every
window and every door.” The men leave. Dean asks
Nancy how she’s doing, and she says she’s
okay. “When I was little, I used to come home
from church, and talk about the devil… my parents
would tell me to stop being so literal. I guess I showed
them, huh? That should hold,” she says, finishing
with Dean’s shoulder. “Thank you,”
he says. The men come back with bags of salt, and Dean
asks where his car is. “In the impound out back,”
the deputy replies. “Wait – you’re
not going out there.” “Yeah, I gotta get
something out of my trunk,” Dean says.
Dean
runs outside to the impound and goes inside. He opens
the trunk and starts to grab stuff, when he sees the
lights at the gas station across the road start flickering.
Black smoke come around the corner, and Dean looks up.
He sees tons of black smoke approaching. He quickly
grabs the last of the stuff and runs for the building.
Dean
runs in, yelling “They’re coming!”
Sam is just finishing the symbols on the floor, and
Nancy puts the last of the salt at the windows. A demon
suddenly is at the window, and she screams. In seconds,
the whole building is surrounded by black smoke. Everyone
stands still, waiting. And then the black smoke is gone.
The boys look at each other. “Everybody okay?”
Sam asks. Dean gives everyone charms to keep them from
being possessed. “What about you and Sam?”
Nancy asks. The boys pull down their collars to show
devil’s trap tattoos on their chests. “Smart.
How long you had those?” Hendrickson asks. “Not
long enough,” Sam replies.
Later,
Nancy looks out the window and sees a lot of people
standing outside. She recognizes a friend of hers, and
Sam tells her it isn’t her friend anymore. “Is
that where the black smoke went?” Nancy asks.
“Looks like,” Sam replies. The people outside
all have black eyes.
The
deputy goes to the window to look out, and when he does
he accidentally brushes some of the salt away, leaving
a gap.
“Shotgun
shells full of salt,” Hendrickson says, as he
and Dean load guns. “Whatever works,” Dean
replies. “Fighting off monsters with condiments…”
Hendrickson says. “So. It turns out demons are
real.” “FYI, so are ghosts,” Dean
says. “And werewolves. And vampires. Changelings.
Evil clowns that eat people.” Hendrickson nods.
“Okay then.” “If it makes you feel
better, Bigfoot’s a hoax,” Dean says, smiling.
“It doesn’t,” Hendrickson replies.
“How many demons?” “Total? No clue.
A lot,” Dean says. “You know what my job
is?” Hendrickson asks. “You mean besides
locking up the good guys? No, I have no idea.”
“It’s boring. It’s frustrating. You
work three years for one break, and then maybe you can
save… a few people. Maybe.” He goes on to
say that it’s all been a waste, and he’s
here because of that. “So what’s out there?
Can you guys beat it? Can you win?” “Honestly?”
Dean replies. “I think the world’s gonna
end bloody. But does that mean we shouldn’t fight?
We do have choices. I choose to go down swinging.”
“Plus you got nothing to go home to but your brother,”
Hendrickson says. “Yeah. What about you? You rocking
the white picket fence?” Dean asks. Hendrickson
says no. “Empty apartment, string of angry ex-wives…
I’m right where you are,” he says, then
laughs. “Imagine that,” Dean says.
They
hear shattering glass in another room, and go in, someone
has gotten inside. “How do we kill her?”
Hendrickson asks. “We don’t,” says
Sam. “She’s here to help us.” It’s
Ruby. “You gonna let me out?” she asks Sam,
and he scratches a little bit of the paint that makes
the symbol away. “And they say chivalry’s
dead. Does anyone have a breath mint? Some guts splatted
in my mouth while I was fighting my way in here,”
she says, walking into the next room. Dean follows her
as Sam brushes the salt back over on the window.
“How
many are out there?” Dean asks her. “Thirty
at least. So far,” she replies. “Oh good.
Thirty,” says Dean. “Thirty hit-men all
gunning for us. Who sent them?” Ruby looks at
Sam. “You didn’t tell Dean?” Dean
looks up in surprise. “I’m surprised,”
Ruby says. “Tell me what?” Dean asks. “There’s
a big new up and comer,” she says. “A real
pied-piper.” “Who is he?” Dean asks.
“Not he. Her,” Ruby replies. “Her
name is Lillith. And she really, really wants Sam’s
intestines on a stick. Guess she sees him as competition.”
Dean looks at Sam. “You knew about this?”
Sam doesn’t answer. “Well jeez Sam, is there
anything else I should know?” he says angrily.
“How about the two of you talk about this later,”
Ruby cuts in. “We’ll need the Colt.”
The boys look awkward. “Where’s the Colt?”
she asks. “It got stolen,” Sam says quietly.
“I’m sorry, I must have blood in my ear.
I thought I just heard you say you let the Colt get
stolen out of your thick, clumsy, idiotic hands,”
she says furiously. “Fantastic. This is just peachy.”
“Ruby…” Sam begins. “Shut up,”
she says, holding up her hand. “Fine,” she
says after a moment. “Seeing as we don’t
have any other option, there’s one other way I
know of to get you out of here alive.” “What’s
that?” Dean asks. “I know a spell. It’ll
vaporize every demon in a one-mile radius. Myself included,”
she tells them. “You let the Colt out of your
sight, and now I have to die. So next time, be more
careful. How’s that for a dying wish.” “Okay.
So what do we do?” Dean asks. “Aww. You
can’t do anything. This spell is very specific.
It calls for a person of virtue,” she replies.
“I got virtue,” Dean says. “Nice try.
You’re not a virgin,” Ruby says. “What?”
Dean says. “Nobody’s a virgin.” They
look around the room and end up looking at Nancy. “No.
No way, you’re kidding me, right?” Dean
asks. “What? It’s a choice, okay?”
she says. “So you’ve never… not even
once? Wow,” Dean says. “So, this spell.
What can I do?” Nancy asks. “You can hold
still – while I cut your heart out of your chest,”
Ruby says, approaching her. “What?” Nancy
gapes. “What?” Dean says. “I’m
offering a solution,” Ruby says. “You’re
offering to kill somebody!” Dean argues. “What
do you think is gonna happen to this girl once the demons
get in?” Ruby asks. “We’re gonna protect
her, that’s what,” Hendrickson says. They
continue arguing until Nancy says, “Would everybody
please shut up?” They all stop and look at her.
“All those people out there. Will it save them?”
she asks. “It’ll blow the demons out of
their bodies. So if their bodies are okay, yeah,”
Ruby replies. She thinks for a minute. “I’ll
do it.” “No!” says Dean and Hendrickson
at once. Nancy says she wants to help her friends who
are out there. “We don’t sacrifice people,”
Hendrickson says. “We do that, we’re no
better than them.” “We don’t have
a choice,” Ruby says. “Yeah well your choice
is not a choice,” Dean argues. “Sam. You
know I’m right,” Ruby says, looking at him.
They all look at Sam, who says nothing. “Sam?”
Dean says. “What the hell is going on? Sam, tell
her!” Sam still doesn’t say anything. “It’s
my decision,” Nancy says. “Damn straight,
cherry pie,” Ruby says. “Stop! Stop!”
Dean yells. “Nobody’s killing virgins! Sam,
I need to talk to you.”
The boys go out of the room.
“Please
tell me you’re not actually considering this,”
Dean says. “We’re talking about holding
down a girl and cutting out her heart.” “And
we’re also talking about thirty people out there,
Dean. Innocent people. Who are all going to die, along
with everyone in here,” Sam argues. “That
doesn’t mean we throw away the rule book and stop
acting like humans!” Dean says desperately. “I’m
not going to let that demon kill some nice, sweet, innocent
girl who hasn’t even been laid! I mean if that’s
how you win wars, then I don’t wanna win.”
“Then what? What do we do, Dean?” Sam asks.
“I got a plan,” says Dean. “I’m
not saying it’s a good one, I’m not even
saying it’ll work. But it sure as hell beats killing
a virgin.” “Okay, so what’s the plan?”
Sam asks. “Open the doors. Let ‘em all in,
and we fight,” Dean replies.
Sam
walks in to where Dean and everybody else is. “Get
the equipment to work?” Dean asks. “Yeah,”
Sam replies. “So?” Dean says. “So
this is insane,” Sam says. “You win understatement
of the year,” Ruby says sarcastically. “Look,
I get it. You think…” Dean begins, but Ruby
cuts in. “I don’t think! I know. It’s
not gonna work.” She stands up and starts to walk
away. “So long, boys.” “So you’re
just gonna leave?” Sam asks. “Hey,”
she says. “I was gonna kill myself to help you
win. I’m not gonna stand here and watch you lose.
And I’m disappointed. Because I tried, I really
did. But clearly, I’ve been on the wrong horse.
Do you mind letting me out?” she says. Sam lets
her out. She goes out with the demon-killing knife held
up. “I’m leaving,” she says. “Who
wants to stop me?” She walks through the group
of demons and leaves.
They
open all the doors and brursh away the salt and symbols.
Once the demons start running in, the men start shooting
them and splashing them with holy water. Up on the roof,
Nancy and the deputy get down onto the ground and put
salt around the doors again, trapping the demons inside.
Soo, there are too many to stop and the boys get cornered.
But the demons don’t come any closer, they just
stand around the boys in a circle. One girl walks forward
and then pins Sam and Dean against the wall. “Hendrickson,
now!” Dean yells, and Hendrickson hits a button.
Immediately, Sam’s taped voice, saying an exorcism,
is heard all over the building from the speakers. The
demons start screaming, and they are all exorcised from
the humans. The boys fall down from the walls. Hendrickson
walks in, and the all exchange glances. The people on
the floor start moving.
“I’d
better call in,” Hendrickson says as everybody
starts leaving. “Another story I won’t be
telling.” “So what are you gonna tell them?”
Sam asks. Hendrickson says that he’s going to
kill them. “Sam and Dean Winchester were in the
chopper when it caught on fire,” he says. “Nothing’s
left. Can’t even identify them. Rest in peace,
guys.” They all shake hands, and the boys leave.
A
little girl comes into the police station, holding the
hand of a woman. “Well hey there,” says
Nancy, who is cleaning up. “Excuse me, I’m
looking for two boys,” says the little girl. “They’re
brothers. One’s really tall, and one’s really
cute?” Nancy laughs. “What’s your
name, sweetie?” The girl pauses. “Lillith.”
Her eyes go white. As Hendrickson moves forward with
a gun, the girl holds up her hand and there is a blinding
flash of white light.
Motel
Sam and Dean are relaxing when there is a knock on the
door. Dean opens it, and Ruby walks in. “Turn
on the news,” she says. The boys switch on the
TV. “The community is still reeling from the tragedy
that happened just a few hours ago,” a reporter
is saying. “Police believe a gas main ruptured,
causing a massive explosion, and claiming the lives
of everyone inside. Among the deceased at least six
police officers and staff including Sheriff Melvin Dodd,
Deputy Phil Amichi, and Secretary Nancy Fitzgerald,
as well as three FBI Agents identified as Steven Groves,
Calvin Reidy, and Victor Henriksen. Two fugitives in
custody were also killed.” The boys are silent.
Ruby looks at them. “Must’ve happened right
after we left,” Sam says. “Considering the
size of the blast, smart money’s on Lillith,”
Ruby says, tossing small bags to Dean and Sam. “What’s
in these?” Dean asks. “It’ll protect
you. Throw Lillith off your trail – for the time
being at least,” Ruby says. “Thanks,”
says Sam. “Don’t thank me. Lillith killed
everyone. She slaughtered your precious little virgin
as well as a half a dozen other people. So after your
big speech about humanity in war, it turns out your
plan? Was the one with the body count. Do you know how
to fight a battle? You strike fast, and you don’t
leave any surivors, so no one can go running to tell
the boss. So next time? We go with my plan.” She
leaves. The boys look at each other, confused and upset.
