Full Synopsis

A red-haired girl is sitting in a hospital bed, staring into the distance. ?Anna?? says a woman?s voice. ?Do you know where you are? You?re at the Common Beverley Behavioural Medicine Center. Do you know why you?re here?? Anna shrugs. ?Do you remember what you did?? the woman asks. Anna nods. The woman goes on, ?You were hysterical. It took four people to restrain you.? ?I ? I was trying to warn them,? Anna says. ?Warn who?? the woman asks. She is sitting beside Anna?s bed with a clipboard. ?Everyone,? Anna replies, then ?Forget it. It was stupid.? ?What were you trying to warn them about?? the woman asks. ?Look,? Anna says, ?I get it. You think I?m nuts. If I were you I?d think I was nuts. But it?s all true.? ?It?s okay,? says the woman, ?You can tell me. I?m here to listen.? ?The end ? is coming,? Anna says slowly. ?The apocalypse.? ?The apocalypse?? the woman repeats. ?Like ? in the Bible?? ?Kind of,? Anna says. ?I mean, same bottom line. This demon, Lillith, is trying to break the sixty-six seals to free Lucifer from Hell. Lucifer will bring the apocalpyse. So? smoke ?em if you got ?em.? She stops talking and looks away again, tilting her head to the side and staring at nothing. The doctor watches her. ?Anna?? Anna quickly stops and turns her head. ?Sorry.? ?What were you doing?? the woman asks. ?Nothing,? Anna replies. ?Just listening.? ?So you were saying, there are sixty-six of these seals?? ?No, no. There are about six-hundred possible seals. And Lillith only has to break sixty-six of them, and no one knows which sixty-six she?s going to break.? ?I see.? ?That?s why it?s nearly impossible to stop her,? Anna goes on. ?And that?s why the angels are losing. That?s why we?re all gonna die.?

A male nurse pushing a cart goes to Anna?s room and opens the door. ?Time for your meds, Anna.? She is sitting on the bed, facing away, drawing pictures of what looks like a stained-glass window. ?Anna?? She closes the book and turns around, only to gasp and start backing up. ?Your face! What happened to your face?? she cries. ?I know,? says the man, and his eyes go black. ?I?m downright kissable.? He closes the door behind him. Anna looks frantically at a big chest of drawers against the wall, then at the man, then back at the drawers. They suddenly move, moving across the room and crushing the demon into the door, smashing his head against the glass. He goes limp. She runs to the door and pulls it open, squeezing out.

Bar
?Alright, come on man, just one more Just give me a chance to win it back.? Sam says. He is playing pool with another man. ?It?s your cash,? the guy replies. ?Excuse me,? Dean says, walking up. ?My brother?s a little sauced to be making bets.? ?Hey, he insisted,? the guy says. ?Yeah, but you?ve already taken what, two bills off him? I?m just saying,? Dean goes on. ?Hey, shut up Dean,? Sam says. ?I?m fine.? ?No you?re not fine, you?re drunk,? Dean argues. ?Let?s make it five-hundred,? Sam says. Dean shakes his head. ?Five hundred?? ?Sure,? the guy says, smiling. Sam smiles and puts down the money. ?Your break,? the guy says, leaning down to put the pool triangle away. As he does, Sam smirks at Dean, clearly not drunk, and Dean smirks back. Sam takes the shot, and it?s a clean break. The guy looks confused. Sam looks up and sees Ruby, sitting at the bar. ?Keep the money,? he says, and walks towards her. Dean looks up in shock. ?Keep the money?? he repeats. ?What??? He watches Sam and sees Ruby too, then follows.

?You got a lot of nerve showing up anywhere near me,? Dean says angrily as the boys approach her. ?I just have some info, and then I?m gone,? she says. ?What is it?? Sam asks. ?I?m hearing a few whispers,? she says. ?Oooh, great. Demon whisperers. That?s reliable,? Dean says irritably. ?Girl named Anna Milton escaped from a locked ward yesterday,? Ruby says. ?Demon seemed pretty keen on finding her. Apparently some real heavy hitters turned out for the Easter egg hunt.? ?Why, who is she?? Sam asks. ?No idea. But I?m thinking that she?s important,? Ruby replies. ?Cause the order?s to capture her alive. I just figure that whatever the deal is, you may want to find this girl before the demons do.? Dean shakes his head, but Sam says, ?Look, maybe we should check it out.? ?Actually, we?re working a case. But thanks,? Dean says, smirking. ?What case?? Ruby asks sarcastically. ?Uh, we?ve got leads,? Dean replies. ?Big leads.? ?Sounds dangerous,? Ruby says. ?Yeah well it sure ain?t goose-chasing after some chick who for all we know doesn?t even exist, just because you say she?s important,? Dean snaps. ?I?m just delivering the news. You can do whatever you want with it,? Ruby says. ?Far as I?m concerned, I told you, I?m done.? She gets up to go. Sam grabs her arm. ?Wait wait wait, this hospital Anna escaped from? got a name??

On the road
?Can I get a copy of the missing person?s report?? Sam says into his phone as Dean drives. ?Great. Okay. Thanks.? He hangs up. ?Well, Anna Milton is definitely real.? ?Don?t mean the case is real,? Dean says flatly. ?And this hospital?s a three day drive.? ?We?ve driven further for less, Dean,? Sam replies. Dean shakes his head. Sam looks at him. ?You got something to say, say it.? ?All I?m saying is that this sucks,? Dean says. ?You?re not pissed for going after the girl, you?re pissed cause Ruby threw us the tip,? Sam replies. ?Right. Cause as far as you?re concerned, that hell-bitch is practically family,? Dean answers. ?Boy, something major must have happened while I was downstairs, cause I come back and you?re BFF with a demon?? ?I told you, Dean. She helped me go after Lillith,? Sam says firmly. ?Well thanks for the thumbnail. Real vivid,? Dean snaps. ?You wanna fill in a little detail?? ?Sure, Dean, let?s trade stories,? Sam says irritably. ?You first. How was Hell? Don?t spare the details.? Dean stares at him, then looks away. Sam looks away too, remembering.

Memory ? Six Months Earlier
Sam is at a crossroads, burying a box. He is drinking alcohol as he works. He stands up, looking around, waiting. He looks vaguely drunk, and exhausted. ?COME ON!? he yells into the air. ?WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?? he throws the bottle. As he does, he sees a man standing underneath a light nearby. ?I was wondering whether to come or not, I mean you shot one of my co-workers,? he says. Sam heads towards him. ?Don?t take this the wrong way, Sam, but you don?t look so hot, buddy,? the demon says. ?I guess burying your brother didn?t agree with you.? His eyes go red. Sam spreads his arms. ?Well?? ?Well let?s see that special knife of yours first,? the demon says. Sam pulls it out and puts it down. ?No devil?s traps, either. I?m not here to play games.? ?Oh let me guess,? the demon says, starting forward. ?You wanna make a deal? Round and round the Winchesters go. Sorry Sam, it?s not gonna happen.? He leans forward, putting his hands on the little table with the knife. Sam nods, and then stabs the knife into the demon?s hand. ?I don?t want ten years,? Sam hisses. ?I don?t even want one year. I don?t want candy, I wanna trade places with Dean.? ?No,? the demon says. ?JUST TAKE ME!? Sam hollers. ?IT?S A FAIR TRADE!? ?NO!? the demon yells back. ?Why not?? Sam asks, quieter. ?Lillith wants me dead, just let Dean go and she can have me!? ?Don?t you understand, Sam? It?s not about your soul,? the demon says. ?Dean?s in Hell, right where we want him. We?ve got everything exactly the way we want it. You wanna kill me, go ahead! I?ve made peace with my Lord.?

Present, on the road
In the car, the boys are silent still.

Ward 42
In the hospital, the boys are talking to the same woman doctor who was talking to Anna earlier. ?Of course,? she is saying. ?I want to help however I can.? ?The orderly has no recollection of Anna?s escape?? Sam asks. ?Apparently she knocked him unconscious. The blow caused some amnesia, he doesn?t even remember coming into her room,? the doctor says. ?That?s a hell of a right-hook to knock out a guy who?s got eighty pounds on her,? Dean observes. ?We think she may have planned this, waiting behind the door,? the woman says, gesturing to the broken window. ?Right ? you mentioned Anna?s illness was recent,? Sam says as the boys follow the woman out of Anna?s room. The woman nods. ?Two months ago, she was happy, well adjusted. Journalism major, lots of friends? bright future.? ?So what happened, she just flipped?? Dean asks. ?Well, that?s the tragedy of schizophrenia,? the woman replies. ?Within weeks, Anna was overtaken by dillusions.? ?What kind of dillusions?? Sam asks. ?She thought demons were everywhere,? the woman says, handing Sam Anna?s drawing pad. ?Huh, interesting,? Dean says. ?It?s not uncommon for our patients to believe that monsters are real,? the woman says, smiling gently. ?Ah, that?s just batty,? Dean says seriously. Sam flips through the book, seeing various drawings of stained-glass windows, and then he comes to a page where Anna has written ?The Rising of the Witnesses?. He exchanges glances with Dean, and then flips the page, seeing a drawing of a man?s face, pumpkins and houses are in the back. Above is written ?Samhain ? the next seal is broken?. ?That?s Revelations,? Dean says. ?Since when does the book of Revelations have jack o? lanterns?? the woman asks. ?See, uh, it?s a little-known translation,? Dean replies. ?Ah ? well Anna?s father was a Church deacon. When she became ill, her paranoia took on religious overtones. She was convinced the Devil was about to rise up and end the world,? the doctor goes on. ?I hope you find her. It?s dangerous for her to be out there alone right now.?

The boys head up the steps of a house, near the door is a little painted sign that says ?The Milton?s?. Dean knocks. Nobody comes. ?Maybe they?re not home,? he says. ?Both of the cars are in the driveway,? Sam says. Dean tries the door, and it opens. They head inside. ?Mrs. Milton?? Dean calls. ?We?re with the Sheriff?s Department,? Sam calls. ?Just wanted to ask you a couple of questions.? No one answers. Sam then notices a dead woman laying on the floor, and further in is her husband, also dead. Their throats are slit. Sam kneels next to the woman and wipes his finger in something on the floor, then sniffs it. ?Sulphur,? he says. ?Demons beat us here. Don?t know what the deal is with this Anna girl.? ?Yeah, they want her,? Dean agrees. ?And they?re not screwing around. Alright, so I?m ?Girl, Interrupted??? He picks up some envelopes off the fireplace. ?And I know the score of the apocalypse, just busted out of the nutbox, possibly using superpowers, by the way ? where do I go?? Sam picks up a picture off the table. ?Hey, you got those sketches from Anna?s notebook?? he asks. ?Can I see them?? Dean comes over, and Sam shows him that the stained-glass window in her drawing is also in the background of the photo, behind Anna and her family. ?She was drawing the window of a church,? Dean realizes. ?Over and over,? Sam says. ?If you were religious, scared, and had demons on your ass, where would you go to feel safe??

Church
Dean and Sam enter the upper part of the church, guns at the ready. ?Dean?? Sam draws his brother?s attention to movement, behind a big stained-glass window. Sam puts away his gun. ?Anna? We?re not gonna hurt you, we?re here to help. My name is Sam, this is my brother, Dean?? ?Sam?? Anna says suddenly. ?Not Sam Winchester?? ?Uh, yeah,? Sam says, as the boys exchange looks. Anna walks out to face them. ?And you?re Dean. The Dean?? ?Well, yeah. The Dean, I guess,? Dean says, smiling a little. ?It?s really you,? she smiles. ?Oh my God.? She starts towards them. ?The angels talk about you. You were in Hell, but Castiel pulled you out, and some of them think you can help save us. And? some of them don?t like you at all,? she says to Sam. ?They talk about you all the time lately. I feel like I know you.? ?So you talk to angels?? Dean asks. ?Uh, no, no way. Um, they probably don?t even know I exist. I just kind of? overhear them,? she says. ?Overhear them?? Sam repeats. ?Yeah, they talk, and sometimes I just? hear them in my head,? Anna replies. ?Like? right now?? Dean asks. ?Not right this second. But a lot. And I can?t shut them out, there?s so many of them.? ?So they lock you up with a case of the crazies, when really you?re just? tuned into angel radio?? Dean says. She nods. ?Yes. Thank you.? ?Anna, when did the voices start? Do you remember?? Sam asks. ?I can tell you exactly,? she says. ?September eighteenth.? ?That day I got out of Hell,? Dean mutters to Sam. ?The first words I heard. Clear as a bell,? she says. ??Dean Winchester is saved?.? The boys look shocked. ?What do you think?? Dean asks Sam. ?This is above my paygrade, man,? Sam says. ?Well at least now we know why the demons want you so bad,? Dean says, smiling. ?They get a hold of you, they can hear everything the other side?s cooking. You?re 1-900-Angel.? They laugh a little. ?Hey, do you know, are my parents okay?? she asks. ?I didn?t go home? I was afraid.? Just as the boys are looking awkard, the door behind them busts open and Ruby rushes in. ?You got the girl? Good, let?s go.? Anna screams. ?Her face!? ?No no it?s okay, she?s here to help,? Sam says quickly. ?Don?t be so sure,? Dean says quietly. ?We have to hurry,? Ruby insists. ?Why?? Dean asks. ?Because a demon?s coming, big time, and we can fight later, Dean,? she says. ?Well that?s pretty convenient! Showing up right when we find the girl with some big-wig on your tail?? Dean argues. ?I didn?t bring him here, you did,? Ruby says. ?He followed you from the girl?s house, we gotta go now!? ?Dean,? Sam says, pointing. There is a statue of the Virgin Mary in the corner, and her eyes are bleeding. ?It?s too late,? Ruby says. ?He?s here.? Sam grabs Anna and pulls her to a closet, telling her to stay put. He then pulls out a flask of holy water and moves forward. ?No, Sam, you gotta pull him right away,? Ruby says. ?Whoa, hold on a sec!? Dean begins. ?Now is not the time to belly-ache about Sam going darkside,? Ruby says firmly. ?He does his thing, he exorcises that demon, or we die.? Sam tucks away the holy water and prepares himself.

The door busts open, and a tall grey-haired man walks in. Sam holds up his hand, and the man?s eyes turn white, and he puts his hand to his throat, then coughs. ?That tickles.? His eyes go back to normal. Sam stares in shock. The man laughs. ?You don?t have the juice to take me on, Sam.? He holds up his hand and pulls Sam forward, pulling him past him and throwing him down the stairs. Dean grabs the knife and starts forward, but the demon grabs his jacket and stops him. ?Hello again, Dean.? He throws Dean into the wall.

Ruby throws open the closet door and starts in, while Anna is screaming.

The demon knocks the knife out of Dean?s hand and starts hitting him in the face. ?Don?t you recognize me?? he asks. ?Oh, I forgot. I?m wearing a pediatrician.? He goes back to hitting Dean. ?We were so close! In Hell.? He hits Dean again, and then Dean looks at him. ?Alastair.? The demon laughs and punches Dean again. Dean is bleeding from the nose and mouth now. Alastair suddenly turns, right as Sam is coming at him with the knife. He grabs Sam, but Sam still stabs him in the shoulder with the knife. ?You?re gonna have to try a whole lot harder than that, son,? Alastair says, and throws Sam aside. He grips the knife, wincing. Sam rushes to Dean?s side, grabbing his shoulder. The boys look at the demon, and then the stained-glass window behind. Just as Alastair gets the knife out, the boys jump through the window and are gone. Alastair watches, holding the knife.

Motel
Sam is sewing up a huge cut in his arm, growling in pain. Dean is in the bathroom, he spits blood into the sink and then rinses his mouth. ?You almost done?? he asks. ?Going as fast as I can,? Sam says shortly, still working at his arm. ?Good, cause you know I got a dislocated shoulder over here,? Dean reminds him, coming over. He is holding his left arm tight against his body. ?Yeah, I?ll pop it back when I?m finished,? Sam tells him. Dean takes a drink of whiskey, and then Sam asks for it. He pours it over his wound. Dean winces with him. ?So you lost the magic knife, eh?? ?Yeah, saving your ass,? Sam replies. ?Who the hell was that demon?? ?No one good,? Dean says. ?We gotta find Anna.? ?Ruby?s got her, I?m sure she?s okay,? Sam says. ?Alright, come on.? He stands up. ?On three.? He holds Dean?s arm, and puts one hand on his back. ?One?? He pulls Dean?s arm, and Dean cries out in pain, then turns away, gritting his teeth to keep from crying out again. Sam puts a towel on his arm. Dean looks up. ?You sure about Ruby? I think it?s just as likely she used us to find radio-girl, then brought that demon in to kill us.? ?No. She took Anna to keep her safe,? Sam says calmly. ?Yeah, well why hasn?t she called to tell us where she is?? Dean asks, putting a cold-pack on his shoulder. ?Cause that demon is probably watching us right now,? Sam replies hotly. ?Waiting to follow us right back to Anna again, that?s why he let us go.? Dean laughs humourlessly. ?You call this letting us go?? ?Yeah I do! Look, killing us would have been no problem for that thing,? Sam replies. ?That?s why for now we?ve just gotta lay low, and wait for Ruby to contact us.? ?Yeah, and how is she gonna do that?? Dean asks. Sam shrugs. ?Why do you trust her so much?? Dean asks. Sam huffs. ?I told you.? Dean puts down the pack. ?You?ve gotta do better than that. Man, I?m not trying to pick a fight here, I really want to understand. And I want to know more, I mean I deserve to know more.? He walks towards Sam. ?Because,? Sam says quietly. ?She saved my life.?

Memory - Six Months Earlier
Sam staggers into his motel room, he looks even worse than before, pale with dark circles around his eyes. As he turns around, a man punches him in the face. He turns only to be punched again, then the man grabs his arms, holding him back as a blond woman appears, kneeing Sam in the stomach, then head-butting him. ?Thanks for keeping this warm for me, Sam,? she says, taking the knife from Sam?s pocket and holding it to his throat. ?Ruby,? Sam says. ?It?s nice to be back,? she says, smiling. ?Where I was? Even for Hell it was nasty. I guess I really pissed Lillith off. Imagine my relief when she gave me one last chance. A ticket topside. And all I had to do was find you. And kill you.? She turns the knife over, preparing to stab him. ?Fine,? Sam says. ?Go ahead. Do it.? She pulls back the knife, and then at the last moment stabs the demon that is holding onto Sam, killing him. ?Grab your keys, we gotta go,? she says to Sam. ?Now!?

Memory ? on the road
Sam is driving, the blond Ruby is in the passenger seat. ?You know what sounds good?? she says. ?French fries.? Sam says nothing. ?I?m starving. I just escaped Hell, I deserve a treat,? she says. Sam is still silent. ?You know, a thank you would be nice,? she says. ?Who asked for your help,? Sam says flatly. ?You have no idea what I?ve been through,? Ruby replies. ?When Lillith gets pissed? She gets creative. You wanna hear about the corners of Hell I?ve seen, Sam?? ?No I don?t,? Sam says. ?And the things I had to do to convince her I was sorry? That I could be trusted?? ?Well this?ll definitely get you a fat Christmas bonus,? Sam says sarcastically. ?Very funny,? Ruby says. ?I?m a fugitive, for you, Sam. I took all of this risk to get back to you, so yeah, I deserve a damn thank you.? ?Who asked you to save me,? Sam says again. ?I?m just trying to help,? she says. ?Can you help me save Dean?? Sam asks. ?No,? she says. ?Nothing I know of is powerful enough to do that.? Sam nods, and then pulls over to the side of the road. ?Then I have no use for you.? ?What?? she says in shock. ?Get out,? Sam says firmly. ?Sam?? she tries. ?Whose body are you riding, Ruby?? Sam asks. ?What do you care? You?ve never asked me that before,? she says. ?I?m asking now,? Sam says firmly. ?Some secretary,? she tells him. ?Let her go,? Sam says. ?Or I send you right back to Hell.?

Memory ? Hospital
There is a girl ? the body Ruby is in in the present ? laying on a bed. The tag on the bottom reads ?Doe, Jane?. ?Alright, pull it,? a doctor standing next to the bed says. The other doctor pulls off her oxygen mask, and the monitor flatlines. Suddenly she sits bolt upright, gasping. ?Who do I have to kill to get some French fries around here?? she says.

Sam is sitting in a dicrepit old house, cleaning a gun. There?s a knock at the door, and he gets up and answers it, carrying a shotgun. Ruby is standing outside, holding a piece of paper. ?Proof,? she says, ?This body is one-hundred percent socially conscious. I recycle.? She steps inside. ?Al Gore would be proud.? ?You grabbed a coma patient?? Sam asks, looking at the paper. ?You didn?t want me to take a body with someone in it, and I made sure that the spirit was? gone. Apartment was empty. You happy?? Ruby walks through the old house, looking around. ?Why are you here?? Sam asks. ?I can?t bring Dean back,? Ruby says. ?But I can get you something else that you want.? ?Huh, and what?s that?? Sam asks, picking up a bottle of whiskey and taking a drink. ?Lillith,? she says. ?You want me to use my psychic whatever?? Sam asks. ?Look, I know that it spooks you?? Ruby begins. ?Skip it with the speech. I?m ready,? Sam says. ?Let?s go.? ?Slow down there, cowboy,? she says, looking surprised. ?Just tell me what I have to do,? Sam insists. Ruby sits down. ?Look, Lillith is one scary bitch. When I was in the pit, there was talk. She?s cooking up something big. Apocalyptic big.? ?So let?s kill her,? Sam says. ?You wanna go in there and half-ass it like before?? Ruby says. ?We have the time to get it right, let?s get it right.? ?Okay,? Sam says. ?What do you want from me?? he takes another drink. ?Well a little patience. And sobriety. Promise me that. And I will teach you everything I know.? Ruby looks at him seriously.

Present ? Motel
?So?? Dean asks. ?What did she teach you?? ?Well, the first thing I learned,? Sam says, ?I?m a crappy student.?

Memory
Sam and Ruby are standing near a possessed man, who is tied to a chair inside a devil?s trap. Sam holds out his hand, his face turning red already. The man?s mouth opens, the demon comes out a little ways and then goes back in. Sam tries again, and once again the demon starts to come out of the man?s mouth. Sam?s nose is starting to bleed. Ruby stand nearby with the knife. Sam groans in pain and the demon goes back into the man, Sam holds his head. The demon starts laughing, and Ruby stabs him in the head. ?Not funny,? she says.

Sam returns from burying the man, putting the shovel down. He takes out some painkillers and downs them along with whiskey. ?Just give it time, Sam,? Ruby says, standing behind him. ?It?ll get better.? Sam smiles humourlessly. ?What? I need more practice?? ?I?m not talking about pulling demons,? Ruby says seriously. ?I know losing Dean is?? ?Hey,? Sam cuts her off. ?I don?t wanna talk about it.? He pauses for a moment, then goes on. ?You know what? Where do you get off slapping me with that greeting-card, time-heals crap, what the hell do you know?? ?I used to be human,? Ruby replies. ?And I still remember what it feels like to lose someone.? She moves forward, putting her hand on Sam?s shoulder. ?I?m sorry.? Sam knocks her hand away. ?Uh uh, no. I can?t.? ?Sam, you?re not alone,? she says, and kisses him. He shoves her away and stands up, walking a little ways away to sit on the couch. ?What are you doing?? ?Sam, it?s okay!? she says. ?No, that is ANYTHING but okay,? Sam yells. ?What?s wrong?? she asks. ?What?s wrong?? Sam gapes at her. ?Where do I start?? ?Is it because of the body?? Ruby asks, taking off her jacket and kneeling in front of Sam. ?Because I told you, it?s all me inside of here. There?s no one else in here. And it?s nice inside this body, Sam. Soft, warm.? Sam closes his eyes, not looking at her. She puts his hand on her side. ?What are you doing?? he asks again. ?Is it cause you?re really scared ? to go there with a demon?? she says. ?Because it?s wrong, and it?s bad, and we shouldn?t?? Sam finally gives in and grabs her, kissing her passionately. He pulls off her shirt, and she pulls off his, they continue to kiss passionately.

Present ? Motel
?Sam?? Dean says. Sam looks at him. ?Yeah?? ?Too much information,? Dean says. ?I told you I was coming clean,? Sam says. ?Yeah but now I feel dirty,? Dean replies. ?Okay well, uh, brain-stabbing imagery aside, so far all you?ve told me about is a manipulative bitch who screwed you, played mind games with you, and did everything in the book to make sure you went bad.? ?Yeah well there?s more to the story,? Sam says. ?Just? skip the nudity. Please,? Dean says. Sam nods. ?Pretty soon after? that, we put together some signs. Omens.? ?Saying what?? Dean asks. ?Lillith was in town,? Sam says. ?And I wanted to strike her first.?

Memory ? Five Months Earlier
?You?re not ready yet,? Ruby is saying. Sam is rushing around, grabbing weapons. ?It?s now or never,? Sam says. ?No, we?ve gotta wait until you get it right. We haven?t been too successful,? she says. ?Alright, I?ll use this,? Sam says, taking out the knife. ?Stop,? she says. ?We can?t just fly in there reckless, Sam, we need you to take the bitch out.? ?Oh I?ll take her out alright,? Sam says, smirking. ?We get one shot, and you?re it,? Ruby says, letting go of his hand. ?You?re the only one who can do it, Sam. So if she kills you first?? Sam smirks. Ruby stops. ?What?? Sam says. ?You don?t want to survive this,? Ruby realizes. ?Come on,? Sam says, without much feeling. ?It?s a kamikaze attack, you want to die fighting Lillith,? Ruby goes on. ?That?s stupid,? Sam says, moving away. ?No, it?s the truth!? Ruby says. ?Because if you kill her, and you survive this, then you have to go on without your brother. This isn?t what Dean would?ve wanted, this isn?t what he died for.? She puts herself in front of the door, blocking his way. ?Get out of my way,? Sam says, ignoring her. ?No, Sam,? she says. ?This is suicide!? He grabs her and pushes her onto the opposite wall, then leaves.

Sam stands in front of a nice white house. Through the windows, he can see a little girl sitting at a table. He heads in, the knife at the ready. He approaches the little girl, and she suddenly turns, crying ?Please, I wanna go home!? Sam stares, and is then attacked from behind by two men. He drops the knife. One man throws Sam against the wall, saying ?Lillith sends regrets. She couldn?t make it.? Suddenly Ruby grabs the knife and slashes the other man?s throat, killing him, then grabs the demon choking Sam and throws him aside. ?Take the girl and run!? she yells. Sam grabs the girl and heads outside. Ruby continues to fight with the demon. He gets the upperhand and pushes her against the wall, pulling her up by the neck. ?Ruby,? he says. ?You?re in so much trouble. When we get you down to the basement? the things we?re gonna do to you?? He suddenly coughs, Sam is standing behind him with his hand oustretched. The demon flows out of his mouth and into the floor, the man falls. Sam?s nose is bleeding, but he?s still standing. ?Sam,? Ruby gasps. ?I?m okay,? Sam reassures her. ?Thanks.?

Present ? Motel
?Ruby came back for me,? Sam says. ?Whatever you have to say, she saved me. More than that, she got through to me. What she said to me? it?s what you would?ve said.? Dean watches him silently. ?If it wasn?t for her, I wouldn?t be here,? Sam goes on. There?s a knock at the door. ?Housekeeping,? a woman?s voice says. ?Not now,? Dean calls. ?Sir, I?ve got clean towels,? she says. Dean stands and opens the door. ?Can?t you just leave them at the door?? The African-American woman outside pushes her way in, handing Dean the towels and moving to the curtains, she closes them. She hands Sam a piece of paper. ?I?m at this address.? ?I?m sorry, what?? Sam says, completely confused. ?Go now,? she says, pointing. ?Go through the bathroom window. Don?t stop, don?t take your car. There are demons in the hall and the parking lot.? ?Ruby?? Sam finally catches on. ?Okay yes, so I?m possessing this maid for a hot minute,? she says, putting her hands on her hips. ?Sue me.? ?What about?? Sam begins. ?Coma girl? Slowly rotting on the floor back at the cabin with Anna. So I?ve gotta hurry back. See you when you get there. Go!? She points again and then leaves. Dean stares.

Cabin
Dean and Sam head to the cabin, and Ruby, back in her old body, opens the door. ?Glad you could make it.? ?Yeah, thanks.? The boys come inside. Anna looks up. ?Anna, are you okay?? Sam asks. ?Yeah, I think so,? she says. ?Ruby?s not like other demons. She saved my life.? ?Yeah, I hear she does that,? Dean says. He looks at Ruby. ?I guess I uh? you know.? Ruby crosses her arms. ?What?? ?I guess I owe you? for Sam,? Dean says. ?You know, just? you know.? ?Don?t strain yourself,? Ruby says. ?Okay then. Is the moment over?? Dean asks. ?Good, cause that was awkward.? Sam smiles at him. ?Hey, Sam?? Anna says. ?You think it?d be safe to make a quick call? Just to tell my parents I?m okay? They must be completely freaked.? ?Uhmmm,? Sam says. ?What?? Anna says, looking scared. ?Anna, um,? Sam says, sitting down. ?Your parents?? ?What about them?? she asks. ?I?m sorry,? Sam says. ?No, they?re not?? she starts to cry. ?I?m sorry,? Sam says again. She begins to sob. ?Why is this happening to me?? ?I dunno,? Sam admits. She suddenly sits up, looking terrified. ?They?re coming!? she gasps. The lights flicker. ?Back room!? Dean says, and Sam leads Anna to the back room and closes the door. Ruby locks the main door, and Dean grabs weapons. ?Where?s the knife?? Ruby asks. ?Uhhh, about that,? Dean begins. ?You?re kidding!? she says. ?Hey, don?t look at me,? Dean says. ?Thanks a lot,? Sam says. Dean smiles at him. ?Great. Just peachy, impeccable timing guys, really!? Ruby says. There is a sudden rushing sound outside, and the door flies open. There is a gust of wind, and then Castiel strides inside, followed closely by Uriel. Ruby?s eyes go black. ?Please tell me you?re here to help,? Dean says wearily. ?We?ve been having demon issues all day.? ?I can see that,? Uriel says. ?Care to explain why you have that stain in the room?? he looks at Ruby. ?We?re here for Anna,? Castiel says. ?Here for her like? here for her?? Dean asks. ?Stop talking,? Uriel snaps. ?Give her to us.? ?Are you gonna help her?? Sam asks. ?No,? Castiel says. ?She has to die.?
