Bloody
Mary
Bloody
Mary
We
are now our fifth episode into the series, and we can
see the basic format for each episode to come. Basically,
it will start off with what the superstition it is. Then,
there is some connection with Sam and Dean's mother or
Sam's dead girlfriend, Jessica, preferably in a form of
a (day)dream. Then, Sam and Dean will come accross the
strange murder, impersonate some people, come up with
a solution, and drive off.
Now
Bloody Mary is a superstition that most people probably
know about due to the beverage. What I heard is that when
you say "Bloody Mary" three times in the bathroom,
you were suppose to spin around. Yet the writers probably
did there research and stuff and probably know better
than what I hear.
This
episode felt a little dragged out, more so than other
episodes. The problem with this episode was it was too
much plot and not a lot of action. To be honest, the only
action we actually got was at the end.
The
whole solution to the problem was a little confusing at
me at first. They said they wanted to destroy the mirror
that she inhabited, yet didn't the girl that was supposed
to die (but didn't) smash a window that "Bloody Mary"
inhabited? It wasn't until later that they established
it had to be the first mirror in which she was essientally
"born" in.
To
get a little positive in this review finally the Jessica
storyline is brought up. It has been on the downlow for
a while now so I'm wondering how long it will take before
they get a better lead on it. It was quirky though about
how he saw her at the end of the episode. Was that a ghost
or just a self induced mirage?
There
was some great dialogue in this episode. I happened to
like this quote said by Sam: "Look. Your my brother,
and I'd die for you. But there are somethings I need to
keep to myself." I'm excited to see where the writers
will take this. Maybe if Sam does come out with his "secret"
it can give them a heads up on what killed his girlfriend
and his mother.
Finally,
the whole "you know this is like 600 years bad luck"
makes me laugh. Especially because these guys see weird
supernatural superstitions all the time. You would think
they would take that a little more to heart.
Overall,
if you don't mind waiting for the end to happen with all
the good scenes, I say check it out. Also, if your a fan
of "Bloody Mary" I'lll suggest this for you
too. This episode raises more questions making you anxiously
wait for next week's episode!
