Supernatural Season Two Trading Cards – Could
They Get Any Better?
Last
year I had the pleasure of buying and reviewing a full season
one set of Supernatural cards from Inkworks - and
I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. So, could Inkworks
possibly top their 2006 offering? Read on to find out...
The
season one set was a 90 card base group, complete with eight
auto cards and twelve pieceworks. There were the regular
foil card sets, along with a case topper entitled 'Crash.'
To round this off, Inkworks also put out two case incentive
cards that formed a puzzle. These were pretty rare as they
were only supplied to dealers. (To check out my full review,

For
season two, Inkworks really had their work cut out to beat
last year's offering - something I'm pleased to say they
pulled off with flying colors! Not only do the autograph
cards once again feature Jensen and Jared, but there are
nine instead of eight!
To
compliment the autos, Inkworks produced a stunning nineteen
pieceworks cards, including two puzzle sets from Folsom
Prison Blues and All Hell Breaks Loose Pt 2. Also
among the pieceworks are two dual swatch cards featuring
not one piece of costume, but two!
Next
come the regular foil sets entitled 'The Devil's Due,' 'Hunters'
and 'Family Matters.' My favorite of these just has to be
the gorgeous 'Devils Due,' which is also used for this year's
uncut press sheet! (Limited to 199 produced)

To round everything up is the usual case topper, 'Intervention.'
But the set wouldn't be complete without yet another pair
of case incentive cards! This year the set is only available
once again to dealers and not pack inserted and is entitled
'22 Years Later.' The two puzzle cards feature swatches
of material fromcostumes worn in The Benders and
are numbered PW-YA and PW-YB.
Also
out there if you want a little something extra, are a limited
run set from the San Diego Comic Con. 'Renegades' is a nine
piece set and only 1000 were released!
Finally,
if you just have to have everything, there are 6 promotional
cards that were given out at various cons and events. The
cards are: P-UK, P-FE, P-i, P-1, SN2-SD2007 and P-DS!
For
the discerning collector, there is a gorgeous binder to
put the whole shebang into!
So,
is it worth the effort? You bet! I can honestly say I don't
regret getting the set one bit, and I know having it around
will give me pleasure for many years to come. The uncut
press sheets are great for getting signed at conventions
too - something I know because I got my season one sheet
signed at Asylum!!!
Well
done Inkworks! I look forward to a season three offering
next year!
