Skin
The episode "Skin",
I found to be one of the stronger episodes this season.
This episode seemed really fast paced, had good actions
scenes, and a good plot. The episode was not perfect,
though, but I found the good outweighed the bad.
As I mentioned, this episode
was fast paced contrary to some of the other episodes.
Although, sometimes it moved too fast and was hard to
keep up with because the scenes kept alternating. As usual
the end seemed to be the best part of this episode. It
was enjoyable to see Sam and The Shapeshifter (disguised
as Dean) fight. Although it wasn't actually Dean, it was
basically him, indirectly. Now they have strayed away
from the Jessica storyline, but we got some brotherly
tension to fill in its spot. I'm curious to see where
that leads.
Some of the fan reviews
didn't seem like they enjoyed it as much as other episodes.
However, I seemed to enjoy it a little more than others.
But like I said before, this episode wasn't perfect. I
found the acting to fall a little flat. Also, I wasn't
too big fan of the Shapeshifter shedding his skin either.
If you have a weak constitution you should probably skip
that part.
Now I viewed it two times.
The first time I viewed it I seemed to enjoyed a lot but
a second viewing didn't make it seem as good as remembered.
It not like this episode was scary and so I knew what
to expect, it just seemed less appealing, but that is
if you are wanting to view it a second time.
Now in terms of the Shapeshifter
I found it confusing why he would want to frame Dean.
It seemed as if they have much in common, in terms of
being alone. Would the Shapeshifter have more sympathy
for Dean, rather than vengeance? But I guess he wanted
someone to be exactly like him. Being alone and hunted.
Going back to the end of
the episode it was nice to see some actual martial arts.
We have just only got some "tastes" of there
martial art skills. We have seen some of what they can
do in the Pilot when Dean breaks in, and in Bloody Mary
when Dean knocks out the guards. If you enjoy that you
will enjoy the ending fight.
As you can see there were
many positive points to this episode. Not that many bad.
It definately rates high within the 6 epsiodes that have
currently aired. I'm also excited to see next week's episode.
It seems to be a scary one!
